Never leave dogs alone on a natural history museum.

This disastrous canid is

Kougo
. A very tall but very cute dog.

Once I worked on a paleontology museum, many years ago, and I remember my dad told me once "don't forget to bring Marla a bone from the museum" (Marla is their dog), I found that joke comment very funny, I'm always laughing at my dad's jokes, even if they are so bad. That comment came back to my mind, and that's how the idea for this image was born.

Also Kougo is a wonderful guy!! This is part of a Patreon reward, but of course he deserved a really awesome pic.

Traditional. Colored pencils.

Interesting fact. Fossils, or at least the fossils of things such as the reptilian megafauna, contain no organic matter. What actually happens is that the soil that surrounds the bones eventually is fused into rock, and the bones are dissolved by rain water, leaving a cavity that is eventually filled in with stone in the same process that causes stalagmites and stalactites to form in caverns...

I say this in case you are every playing D&D and a necromancer tries to bring a Triceratops fossil back to life. It's not bone, it's rock.
