Dark's Cane Dark's cane is like a key, and the gems are like different locks which the cane is able to open. When a particular gem is inserted into the canes setting, that gems powers become useable. Gem: Amber Colour: Yellow Type/Name: Magic Easily the most versatile of the gems, this gem acts as a spell battery for magic. It can also be used to "reflect" spells by having the cane absorb it and then recast it. Up to eight spells can be stored at a time, each one can be willed out and cast by the holder as chosen. The effects of a spell can also be amplified by the cane if desired. It can undo any effects caused by magic cast through it with a built in "Annul Magic" spell, however this can only be accessed at least a couple of hours after the last spell that was cast, and can be up to a couple of days before it is accessible (the amount of time is random). Spells can be cast accidentally if the holder of the cane is in a heightened emotional state. If an attempt is made to add more than eight spells it causes the cane to "flush" all the spells directly into the holder, blending the effects of all of them. Gem: Sapphire Colour: Blue Type/Name: Goo This gem produces a transparent blue goo. This goo can be used to create a magical golem-type creature that reflects the desires of the holder. It can also be used to create temporary and superficial body modifications by having a layer of the goo surrounding a person and shaped as desired. When this occurs you can still see the person within as the goo is still transparent and will not prevent the person inside from being able to breath and function. The goo can be removed by the sapphire gem at a later point. Gem: Emerald Colour: Green Type/Name: Latex Paint This gem produces a green latex paint. The paint can be imprinted to produce whatever body-shape and mentality is desired by the holder when the paint is created. It can be used directly by applying the paint to a person or indirectly by creating the paint with a specific template in mind to be used later, as such this is the only gem that is able to be used to create a trap. The paint actually does transform the subject so it can subtract mass or add to it and they will become a green latex creature in the pattern desired. A person can only be restored from this by using the emerald gem to "suck" the latex back off of them. The latex remains slightly drippy so a person already converted with it can spread it if they choose (although this has to be a choice rather than automatic like a pool of it). Gem: Obsidian Colour: Black Type/Name: Rubber Latex This gem extrudes black rubberized latex. The rubber can be used to change somebody into any body-shape by coating them in it. The person will be entirely transformed so they can end up smaller (or bigger) as desired. It leaves them as a solid rubberized latex creature with all the "flexibility" that implies. Additionally this gem can be used to construct rubber-latex objects and items, like clothing, harnesses and whips. The rubber can be removed by the obsidian gem at a later point leaving the original person unchanged. Gem: Ruby Colour: Red Type/Name: Exchanger This gem is capable of mass and attribute exchange. When used with a single target mass can be shifted between various parts of the body (shifting fat or overall height to make muscle for instance). When used with two or more people, traits and mass can be exchanged (like overall height, gender, species specific features like big fennec ears). This gem can only work with what mass and traits are available, it cannot give traits that did not exist in some form for the targets already (so you could not swap genders if using it by yourself). Gem: Amethyst Colour: Purple Type/Name: Body Bender This gem is capable of general species, gender and body-shape modifications. When in use it can turn you into any species, gender and body-shape but you will be the same colour as the gem (purple). It can only be used on the person currently holding the cane, and you have to remain within close proximity to the cane to maintain the shape. If the cane gets more than a few meters away from you, or someone else picks it up your body will snap back to normal. If it was someone else who picked it up and it was currently in use, they will find themselves in the shape you had until that point. Gem: Smoky Quartz Colour: Grey Type/Name: Golems This gem can turn people into living golems and back again. Originally in times past it would be used to make people temporarily more durable by turning them into substances like rock, wood and metal. However with a bit of creativity you can make all sorts of living "golems", like pool toys, plush toys and dolls. It can also be used to turn people into animated "inanimate" objects (like clothing), though this kind of transformation seems to have a time limit of 24 hours before they will turn back automatically. Gem: Moonstone Colour: White Type/Name: Elemental This gem can manipulate elements and transform people into elementals with some limited control over the element they represent. It can produce simple elemental based magic like fireballs, small localised earth tremors, lightning bolts and so on. The elemental forms this gem creates are androgynous elf-like beings made from a given element who can produce slightly bigger elemental effects then the gem could produce by itself, but only of the type they represent. Gem: Diamond Colour: Clear Type/Name: Channeler This gem can channel the effects and abilities of other gems. It will keep any that are currently available floating around the head of the cane in a kind of orbiting motion. For any gem currently in its orbit it can channel it's ability, but only one of them at a time (when doing so a kind of "electric" arc will link to the diamond and it will glow with the matching colour). When all eight of the normal gems are available and orbiting it, the canes true owner can activate a kind of "god" mode. When activated, the cane will "fuse" into the tail of the owner with the head poking out of the fur, then the tail and cane will duplicate and split out into nine and each of the orbiting gems will settle into one of the new cane positions. The "gods" eyes will then glow with the colours of all the gems swirling around and will have access to use all of the gems powers and abilities directly and simultaneously. This mode will only last for one hour, and can only be used again after 24 hours have passed. |
