Some of the worlds Poly adventures on are more rustic.. so she needs to live like people used to live back then. With leather armor and a crossbow. That's how people lived back in the dark ages, right? (She's also stuffed her leather armor so people take her more seriously~!)
In the world she's going to now, you need to pick an archetype and stick with it, more or less. Given that Poly is pretty sure that being stabbed, bludgeoned, burnt, crushed, or otherwise maimed is bad, she's decided to stay as far back as possible. The best fight is settled before your enemy knows you're there, and the second best is when your enemy can't do anything about it... namely, with a crossbow at extreme range. She's got nothing to worry about from the enemies...
That is a cool crossbow she's carrying! And she's one smart fox pup to know better than to get anywhere near the enemy, too. Better, indeed, to deal with them at range and avoid getting hurt! It would be a shame to get that spiffy leather damaged, too. Love her expression and her badass stance, and the little bit of strategic stuffing of her armor looks really good on her. Y'know, for purely aesthetic reasons. Or something. Now just make sure to watch out for those naughty tentacles that always seem to lurk around the most interesting places to explore!

*nodnods~!* Yeah! It's a tad heavy, but when you hit someone with it they tend to stay down! And exactly! Poly just doesn't understand the sillies that pick up an axe or something and run right at someone! What if they stab you? And yeah,getting the leather damaged would be terrible!

This is why I've always favored the spell-casting classes. You might not get the cool sword or the neat looking armor, but it's so much safer standing back and frying your enemies with spells! Let somebody else play meat shield!

Exactly! It's so much safer, which is the most important, but bah! They can have their cool swords or neat looking armor, you can literally make yourself glow different colours~! Poly typically prefers spellcasters too, but she wanted to try something new. This was interesting, but involved too much carrying weight around!

Maybe not, but she's showing better foresight. Ciara's one of the one's who's usually in the thick of the fighting, as demonstrated by the scars on her arms. Then again, the necklace she wears is enchanted to let her heal a little faster than normal, too, so maybe it all evens out. And of course Poly's always welcome to come stay, or hide out, at the castle.

Proof, I suppose, that age and wisdom do not necessarily go together. Of course, Ciara's other advantage is probably that she's small and quick, and these days has a whole army at her back, too. And yes, the pendant really does come in handy!
