Hmm ... don't forget about Sonic Rush Adventure, although I admit I don't consider that this game really values Blaze because she's forced to accept Sonic's help from the beginning and yet she could easily make this adventure with only the help of Marine and Tails (I really didn't see what Sonic had done so exceptionnaly in this game.)
And yeah, it's been around 10 years since girls (and other characters) are no longer really considered important or active characters (unless you count Boom). And it's really sad especially when you know that they are perfectly capable of doing their own adventures without the help of the boys.
Let's be honest if for a poll for the next Sonic game (for example) we had the choice between a "girl power" game (with Blaze, Amy or Rouge in main heroine) and an umpteenth game where Sonic would be the only important and active character, which one would be the most interesting and appreciated? In my opinion would be the girl power without hesitation. I even believe that the choice between a game with the team Silver / Sonic / Shadow and a game with the team Blaze / Amy / Rouge would still be in favor of the girls (although the results would be a little closer.
