A few things I noticed right off;
*Clutch and brake petals extended out of the floor (those use to hinge on the frame).
*Accelerator petal appears to work from linkages instead of a cable.
*Ignition switch on the dash (I have a 1976 Dodge camper that is still that way).
*Choke knob below the ignition switch.
*Starter button on the floor.
*Gear shift lever on the steering column with the lever rod being visible.
*Windshield wipers that face each other.
*Large three spoke steering wheel.
*No whiplash restraints on the seat.
*No seatbelts.

At first, I thought it may have been a 1951 Chevy.
The divided windshield indicates a model in the early 1950s or older.

Yes, is a much older vehicle, a 1938 Hudson Terraplane I guess...

Well the film was made in the early 40s and due too current events a late 30s car would be seen as still new!
