Here is a drawing I made sometime in the mid 1990s of the landing of a Mars rover.
Below the planet's surface is depicted a subterranean cross section view.

In pic #1, the flames of the landing rockets are enhanced.
Pic #2 is the original way the drawing was made, and shows the wrinkles that occurred since the time it was made.
