made the comment that a bear can, rather easily, become an otter, panther, or any number of other animals if you don't get the traits right. A comment that stuck with me more than it really should have and made me second-guess myself several times!
All in all, I think it's very clear that he's a bear. :)
Yeah, the muzzle is sufficiently blocky and the nose big enough that it comes off as "bear-ish". But I get what your friend means. With enough... "mushiness", the three can sort of blur together.
