Fun little critter, isn't it?  I've got a couple of those, as well as several of their more modern cousins...

Ah the joys of Tinplate.

"Realism? Screw that. I'm having fun with my TOYS!"

Many an hour spent drooling over a Lionel catalog.

Then I got involved in HO. I still have a pile of early Model Railroader with the Blue and Gray covers.

One of the best model railroad cartoons I've ever seen, was in of all places, the National Lampoon.

Guy in the classic pinstriped overalls and engineers hat, staring down at his model railroad. "The State, She is I!"

Ever see NatLamp's "Amtrak Model Railroad" catalogue from October 1973?  A riot, that is.  :D

And how!   It's amazing what you can do with rattlecan paint and masking tape!  ;-)

I always loved old model trains. I've never seen Lionel trains sold here in Italy. I don't know why. Here we have two main brands like "Lima" and "Rivarossi"; but there's another brand called "Roco". I also seen train models from a german brand, "Marklin" ;)

Back in my HO days, I had plenty of Rivarossi equipment, along with some Lima and RoCo.  I have a prewar Marklin station knocking about in the garage somewheres.

O gauge in Europe isn't quite as popular as it is here in the States.   I got my first Lionel train about 1967 or so, and seriously got back into Lionel about 2003 or so.

Have you seen this?   I think you'd enjoy it...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHbPFhZKOF8  :)

Somewhere I have photos of the railway model that I had built in my room (then dismantled after a few years for reasons of space). If I find them, I publish them on my profile ;)
