We all react to something we don't understand in different ways. You may not overreact, ever; others may overreact, every time, even if they know what's being placed on them. Remember, it isn't a case of him being afraid of the slug, as far as we know, it's a case of him not knowing what it is. I have arachnophobia but, I don't overreact when I find a spider on me, if I can see it. However, if I feel something on me and I don't know what it is, I do overreact trying to get it off of me.
