This was my sketch for the mysterious object at the center of a book I was working on. A strangely shaped asteroid that came from outside of the Solar System. It contained elements that could be responsible for the spread of organic life across galaxies. I had in mind a space opera comic about this object and all the different repercussions, both scientific and philosophical its approach caused.
It looks like reality imitated fictions too fast and now a similar object has been detected.
So I guess I will not finish the story. It's not science fiction anymore.
The things in the middle are cracks on the surface that looked like giant canyons when the spaceships approach. When the real asteroid is close enough for humans to send probes, let's see if those features are there.
I wouldn't jump to conclusions. they have no clue if the real life space turd has organic material. it's just a guess, based on it's color, that it MIGHT be from a system that MIGHT have organic materials. which still doesn't at all guarantee life in that system.
honestly I wouldn't let this sort of thing hamper your creating process. there's always going to be something somewhere that in some way resembles something that someone wrote about in fiction.
I'd bet good money your space turd will be a more interesting read than the real life space turd. :/

It doesn't matter. My point is the idea has already been around, so I can't make a comic about this thing being seen for the first time. I know it's silly, but that's the way my creative process works. If I make the story now everyone is going to think I got the idea from that thing that has been discovered. That ruins the idea in my head and makes me lose the interest in the story.

well, I don't think people will notice for the most part and yeah I know how that stubborn brain thing can be >.<; sorry it sucks.
like when I realized how similar my last submission's ( https://inkbunny.net/s/1481533 ) beat was to the beat in this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0e_0P9OZuM and it's like 100% the opposite tonally to what I am trying to do @.@; so now my brain's like "well fuck it. that fails" even though the thing I did is pretty neat.
