Penguin!
I was experimenting with my style, and this is the result.  At first I was just seeing how I could make Malissa's face simplistic but interesting.  I guess you can blame my recent experience for some of the additional roundness.  After that I made her some clothes, just messing around.  Then I started just throwing out ideas, colors, designs, accessories, and temporary tattoos.

I kind of like the result.  I've frequently seen pictures that employ a wide array of color with seemingly no coherency, with mixed results.  This turned out better than I was expecting.  I might switch the color segments on the ears though.

Finally I decided to try out a new method of inking, using the paths tool and simulation of brush dynamics.  I like how it gave a smooth variation of line width.   The standard path inking has been pretty disappointing, but I think I may have discovered my new favorite inking method.

Yes, that's right, the inking was done with the paths tool.  That inking.  Booya!  I'm still running into problems with scaling however.  The ink gets a little jagged when I shrink it down.  But it's a little less noticeable this way.

Anyway, I have fondly dubbed this 'Rainbow Vomit' because the colors are nearly epilepsy inducing compared to my normal stuff.   I think I need to do stuff like this more often, so I can get a feel for how colors relate.

Oh good golly she's fucking adorable! <3 I love her crazy design here, and those clothes. Also, is that a candy toy that I actually REMEMBER? XD Oh god those haven't existed in ages. Love it! <3 Ugh now I'm like, tempted on a pic with this little thing. Nicely done dude! :3

Thank you.

You just gotta know those things pull double duty as sex toys.  Or, at least hers does.

Fun fact, Malissa collects butterflies.

Haha yeah, oh gosh now I'm all like, wanting to see her use it for the second possible use! X3

And hmm, butterflies huh? That gives me a horrible sort of dating idea. XD Also a good way to gift her. :B

Best give them to her whole, so she can pull the wings off herself.

Thank you X3

I was apparently a little color blind when I was really young, but I grew out of it.  I'm still not sure if I have the same capabilities for it as the average person though.  I guess I'd need some kind of advanced test to determine that.  Or it could just be due to lack of practice, I don't really know.

I did this okay, but it took me a while.

The 80s will haunt us forever.  lol

Aren't there certain demographics that still dress like this?
SockBunny

That's what I was thinking.  I don't really go for punk myself, but Malissa might.

Little tid-bits of the 80's are starting to come back into today's fashion. Little by little, whether it be legwarmers, sleeve gloves, or short sweatshirts on a regular shirt with a clashing color... it's coming back. The problem is, that 2000-'11 didn't know what to do in terms of how to act, what music to make, what fashion to do.... so instead, it's been stealing from every generation (all but the really good ones), and all the kids of today (apparently this is this generation's "thing") have poor education, limited vocabulary, vast amounts of hate, but still run around with an undeserved sense of accomplishment and the "I'm better than you" attitude...

I thought that was every generation?  lol

I think the ones who do are just the most vocal.

And I think the post 2000 stuff is so lost because everyone either thought we wouldn't last this long, or that we would have flying cars and rocket boots by now.  They're just coming to terms with the fact that it may be another century before we have a zombie apocalypse or colonies on other planets.  It's such a major disappointment.

The again there's also the fact that there's so much history it will inevitably be recycled at some point.  I just wish they'd have drawn on some of the kickass fashions from further back.  Imagine getting to wear a tricorner and a surcoat.  That would rock.  And when are capes coming back into fashion?

I wear a work shirt and slacks everyday... I don't need much more fashion than that.... (oh to live in the 50's again...)

*sigh* For a time when parenting consisted of feeding your kids and telling them not to get run over by a car.  X3

Sadly, the ensuing teenage rebellion led to a generation of malnourished stuntmen.

I miss the days when you could hit your kids if they were out of line... instead of pumping them full of pills to make them calm down.

Just leash them to a treadmill, by the end end of the day they'll go right to sleep! XD

Treadmills are more work than fun... that's why parents need to do things together in family outings like going to the park, playing ball, playing on the jungle gym... making a day out of something.
(instead of letting the TV and Videogames raise their kids for them).

I agree, if you're not willing to devote time and effort to raising your kids, don't have any.   I personally doubt I would ever find the time or interest to be a parent, so I've pretty much resolved to never have children if I can help it.

Interesting design. So what is her story?
Infinityplus1
12 years, 7 months ago
Her name is Malissa Velvet, and she's one of the four characters I developed for the naming contest I held back in early August.   She's an amoral, hedonistic little rabbit girl.  She enjoys having fun, especially at the expense of others.  Not necessarily evil, but decency impaired.  She has a bit of a sadistic streak, but nothing too extreme  ...usually.  She is a unique mixture of mall brat and David Xanatos, with just a teensy bit of Joker and Hannibal Lecter.  Malissa will occasionally exhibit what appears to be loyalty to her friends.  It is not, however, loyalty.  She thinks of them as her toys, and believes she is the only one allowed to break them.  Malissa does not have aspirations of world domination.  Whether the world knows it or not, it already belongs to her.

This is her most recent visual design.  I might change it again, but I don't think it will change very much.  Some of the clothing and accessories are superfluous, and just for fun. Though her regular outfit may be just as flashy, to suit her personality.

Yep, it's one of those electric lollipops.  Those ones that have a little motor which spins them around and around, making them look like a Japanese sex toy.

I don't mind the creepy, way too descriptive comments, but other people might, and this is a general submission, so it's probably best to keep it PG-13.
