This is Rayne Shadonelle. She is Techna's mother and is a prominant character in the Manimal's story as she works as a double agent to help save the Sylvania Province from an Intruder known as 'Queen' Medieval. She was there to witness the Intruders destroying the forest around her home and the tree consequently falling on Techna, forcing her to replace her hand and knee. After that event, she slipped in the shadows and tried to stay close to Medieval so she could destroy her plans at the very core and ensure that the snowy ecosystem is not usurped by a greedy, vainful queen.
1. This character has appeared in my mind for many years, a jet black bunny with violet and red eyes and a very gothic appeal. She's not actually goth, but more so just poetic. In a sense, she's kind of more like the older definition of gothic, but she just appreciates fine art and likes things peaceful.
2. She is a teacher as stated in her description. She teaches literature, but more so creativity and reading between lines. It happens to be a great way for her to subtly tell the Manimals about Medieval's plans while still appearing to work for her. Once Medieval is defeated (for the moment), she still keeps up her persona while in public, but privately goes back to being generally brighter in expression.
3. Given her nature, Techna's math and science like intellect actually isn't because Techna is interested in math and science, but rather is just very analytical. The fact that she knows how to program and engineer stuff is a coincidental hobby.
4. Speaking of Techna, yes, her name was changed after she emerged with a self inset robotic cast. She was just a baby when it happened, so Rayne didn't have a name for her yet.
5. Rayne bears a lot of similarities to Luna Polaris, even down to being upset about her child's pain.
6. Despite the title, Rayne isn't actually royalty, nor is she owner of Poshley City (in fact, it's actually Psyamy's parents who own Poshley City for the moment). She just has the title of "Black Queen of Hearts" because of her poetic nature and the fact that her fur is jet black, but her heart is secretly bigger than the city itself.
Yeah, back when Gothic gave the connotation of those massive tall cathedrals, use of limited light to give the illusion of a very expansive realm, as opposed to the modern definition which is synonymous with depression, anti-social, and closed off (which is closer to being defined as "Punk" rather than "Goth". Still, gotta speak to the times in this day and age. She's actually very friendly to most people she meets and tends to speak optimistically a lot. She's just sad that her daughter suffered an attack from the Intruders and managed to take over the nearby city.
