Please explain. Reminds me of a poem I wrote for one of my fan-fics. ----------------------------------------- When Earth had moons four and suns two, when forests walked, Voino flew. When the sky was green and the seas grey A hundred spells Voino did say. ---------------------------------------------------------- Voino was the first wizard, and wielded the first wand. That is nicely done. I would like to offer some advise if it would be OK. I do realize that very few folks ever got daring enough to at least glance up at a solar eclipse...During a total eclipse in the summer of 1973, I took two very quick glances at it with the naked eye by turning my head in a brief sweep to where I got only a half second glance at it each of the two times. I don't believe it was long enough to hurt my eyes, because it has been more than 40 years ago and I would have known something long before now. Anyway, that center where the moon blocks out the sun is not black. It is blue like the surrounding sky, and is so beautiful that it would be difficult to capture in artwork. And the glow seen from behind the moon is not hazey around the edges...It looks like a bright white ring with spikes around the outside, which is the purest white you ever saw (at least the one I saw looked that way). The dark blue sky and where the moon blocks out looked like a deep velvety cobalt blue. I'll never forget how beautiful that looked.

I only glimpsed it long enough to note that it was 1/5 - 1/4 occluded - and the street & lawns looked like early evening. By 5-6 p.m., they were actually brighter.
I hope to see a BETTER spectacle some 7 years from now.
