Stripes was going through some archival information in his office, groaning to himself. "I hate when they tamper with the space-time continuum. So much paperwork..." he groaned. In a moment, Gator stepped in with another bundle of papers for him. "Why all the hard copies?? Shouldn't this be on a smarty-pants phone or something??" he asked. Stripes shrugged. "We can convert the paper directly to data... 2BIT just likes physical backups." he muttered. Gator was not paying attention. "Hey, so this is all because of that Maniac, right? Oooh, I hate Maniac!!" he growled. Stripes looked up. "Huh? Um... It's Mania, not Maniac... We're calling it a new event caused by timey wimey junk after Generations." the tiger explained.
"Do your job and stop breaking the fourth wall!!" 2BIT shouted from the next room. Gator scratched his head. "Hmm... Do you suppose there's a Classic Gator?" he asked. Stripes ignored him. It was best to ignore Gator most of the time. Curious to find this out, Gator decided to check the archive of beings...that crazy room with miniatures of everyone. It was being watched by Cupie, though. "Hey, mouse bit! There's cake in the break room!" Gator cried. "Oooh! We have a break room?!" Cupie gasped, flying off in his own fit of curiosity.
Gator had learned some lessons after last time, and snuck around almost afraid to touch anything. Across the room from Sonic's figure, he could see Classic Sonic. "We do have doubles... Hm..." he muttered, creeping over to check it out. He tripped over his costume's tail, of all things, and staggered, trying not to hit anything. "Waaah, yaaah!! ...Whew... I almost knocked half of Troblusk City on their tushies!" he babbled. Suddenly, the door opened and 2BIT snapped at him. "Gator!! You were banned from this room!!" he shouted. "Gaah!! Eat Mario Brothers!!" Gator shouted, tossing statues of the iconic bros. at 2BIT!
Somewhere, Mario and Luigi were spinning across World 1-1 while a trio of Koopas watched them. "Ugh, they're making me dizzy." one Koopa said. "Is that how ridiculous we look?" another replied.
Later, 2BIT had tied Gator to a chair so he'd listen. "There's no Classic Gator, you've always been...this." he stated, "Now, Classic versions of other denizens of GeneX Prime, I can't rule out... but I don't have control statues for them yet. Come to think of it, why the heck do I have those?" he wondered. Stripes stepped out of his office with a grunt. "Well, according to the archives, you confiscated them from 8BIT, who tried using them to take over the universe." he stated. 2BIT nodded. "Yeah, that's it! And that's why we have archives! ...Because I can't remember things I haven't written down..." he babbled.
...Is that why these stories all exist?!
