A series of fanart and fancomics I did for "Wings of Fire" series of Tui T. Sutherland.
Fantasy with a dragon world and all-dragon characters. Quite for kids even if it has a good amount of fighting and sometimes bloody violence and a bit of killings.
However the books include also a good amount of romance, jokes, and tiny hints that I exploited for some drawing, here for you!
oh well... xD Peril is quite an interesting character... pretty much a dark element of the story. I was a bit disappointed by her POV book, 'cause she sounded less mature than I hoped for...

But Peril is only seven, and Scarlet never wanted her to have contact with other dragons that didnt involve thrilling death for her gladiatior fetish...I think we can forgive the Firescale for being a little less than mature. Besides, shes learning at Jade Mountain...

It is true, but all considered I hoped she was capable of showing a certain degree of more mature feelings than just being a sorta of creepy comic relief character. My point of criticism is more directed toward the author choice than the character itself I mean... But that's generally speaking my view for the whole second series eh... It's nice, but I think magic is really a too-stressed point and it was cool how the first series was mostly devoid of it.
I hoped the author distanced a bit from the style of Warriors and Seekers (re-using certain elements, not daring to move forward or trying new issues) and I fear there is going to be missed opportunities. For once, I felt bad for a lack of dialogue concerning Sunny's father also (btw, I will eventually finish a fanart for him).
However so far I enjoy the series, not like Seekers that to me it was wasted time after the end of the first series...

Well, the main thing of the second quintiligy was always Darkstalker and what he was up to, and Darkstalker is an animus dragon. Magic, and the results of using it, was going to be a major part of the arc, no matter what. I am actually impressed with how the writer handled the magic, and the teaser of what is yet to come.
when the Seven Tribes at last know peace, when the Jade Fangs grow long and reach to the sky, when Night and Sand meet and renew a bond, shall the Bright Moons shine upon the Lost Tribe of dragons...

I will sorta wait the final book for a final opinion of course. Let's say I expect a couple of explanations/solutions to some events and characters, including Darkstalker himself...
On unrelated note, I made other WoF comics, some pointing details I appreciated about the series but also that sadly went a bit ignored or dropped off after the first books of the first series. Mostly about the importance of mate over unattached or poorly emotional mating-breeding between dragons x3 At first I found it an intriguing choice, but then seems not the favourite topic of the normal young readers who rather enjoy shipping characters
