Dear God this took a long time; hope it was worth the wait xD! Anyways, this is my latest drawing; one I was very keen to draw after coming up with the idea, as it's quite a personal drawing to me. See, Boots the Monkey (the sidekick to Dora The Explorer) was the single character I can pinpoint as igniting my interest in anthropomorphic animals, but more to the point, he cemented two key themes that would come to define my style of characters to this day; first, that monkeys lent themselves well to the style (in my eyes), but more importantly, that characters in any form of boots, though mostly Wellies, is something I was very keen on. Connor the Monkey takes some inspiration from him in this sense, and so I figured it would be a good idea to come full circle, and put (by far) the most amount of hours and effort into a drawing that shows where I began, and where I am now.
Part of the reason this took so long, however, is something I'm keen to rectify in the future; my lack of drawing efficiency; namely, the amount of trial and error I had to go through to draw even such simple things as character postures. I'm going to be taking a bit of a step back with my drawings for a while, doing smaller-scale affairs whilst working on some of my key weakness areas (such as character anatomy). I'm also trialling a new signature; one that's my furry name, rather than my real name xD!
(Oh, and no need to worry about copyright of the houses in the backround; the photo I used as reference was taken by me a few weeks ago!)
