I see - that one's stylish, too! I like to imagine the Nether Dragon changes its colour depending on what body part it needs to provide a contrast to, like the shifting sands. :-)

so one would asume to gain an audience with this being one would have to be either very desperate or extreamly determined and even then if the being itself didnt see there cause as important they would probly be batted aside like so many curious kittens.

also in a bit of irony, maybe intentional maybe not, this god of life, closely resembles a certain god of death in a certain bearing of charicter and form...its not its physical apearence just to make this clear its something about the 'air' about it...its hard to describe.

It would be a dangerous audience to seek, unless you wanted to return to Otherworld.

Are you referring to Misericordia? Because there are similarities between them but not really for obvious reasons. Mia was once mortal and his body was twisted in appearance when he became a servent of Luma. The Sand God chose it's physical form to remind an ancient species (Mia's original species) of it's existence. In a way the Sand God is a god of life and death as souls flow though it back to Otherworld too.

I had to reshuffle some lore things with A Story Never Told cancelled, but I feel the changes make more sense for Monumendo. Would like to do a piece at some point explaining it... I don't think a story could cover it properly.

wait you scraped a story never told...why? i was looking forward to that

and actually its anubis, as i said i cant explain what it is just something about the 'feeling' i get from this character and the more serious drawings of the jackal god tend to have....confidence, serenity, mystery to name a few of the feelings i get.

Unfortunately I think it got too large, which lead to KiDra and I being on separate pages on where it was going and what it's focus was. It is a shame, as we both put a lot of emotion into it.

Having said that though some plot threads get re-used in Nether Matters and resolved, I won't spoil what or how but I think if you loved A Story Never Told so far you'll be happy with it.

You know I hadn't even thought of that comparison with Anubis but it is a fair one.

This is a very lovely piece. It may not be, but reminds me of an Egyptian God with those gold markings and I've always been fond of them

It gives the impression of an image that you've done at a higher resolution and shrunk down for display - possibly to meet FA's maximums? As it is not 920px+ wide, it has white borders here - and you have to peer a bit to see some of the detail, which would be hard to draw that small.

Inkbunny supports up to 8K resolution (technically, 36,000,000 pixels) and 36MB per file, and can do both 920px-wide resize and vertical window-fitting on-click for viewers - so while widening would make it a longer image, it's something which could be accounted for by those with short screens.

Of course you may have done this to preserve the high-resolution version for future distribution, which is entirely within your rights - it would be a good advertisement for a hi-res image pack.

Yup, it is a smaller version but I've updated it with a 920px one instead which should get rid of the white borders.

Ah right, then yes it has been shrunk down. The original is 3508px wide.

I do it for other sites and it's an ingrained thing from work, optimised images are for web, high resolution images are for print. Though I could offer other high res images packs if people were interested.

920px sounds like a good with though, I'll just go with that in the future.

Cool! Thanks for the update. I think the little extra width makes a big difference here, because there is a lot of fine detail is in the central half.

It is certainly important to consider visitor experience. By default people see resized versions if it ventures over 920px - e.g. Playing with the Dolphins - both to serve those with smaller screens and to save their bandwidth. (In that case again the detail and layout justifies a wide image, but people can get a good idea from the 920px preview.)

Visitor bandwidth is increasing - as is display size, but slowly - most are still at full HD or lower - and we're trying to cater to those who want to use it up… as well as those still stuck on low-rate DSL or worse, a satellite/mobile connection.

Sometimes people upload 10MB 4K images which really don't have the detail to justify it, but the ones which do make up for it. Disk and bandwidth are relatively cheap for us.
