Skunk - Murana once busted a musk trading ring by infiltrating and destroying one of a syndicate's mills where they kept young mammals and teens where they milked them for their musk. Steven was one of those kidnapped teens she rescued that day. However, unlike all the other children saved that day, she was unable to locate and find Steven's family to return him. Over the weeks and months, he clung to her and ultimately grew on Murana to the point where she filed the paperwork and adopted him officially into her family as her son.

Raccoon - After marrying Wolford but being unable to conceive, Murana's motherly tendencies began to surface again and she began to look around the orphanages in Zootopia and stumbled across Max. She immediately fell in love with him and visited him almost daily for quite a few months before finally taking the plunge and filing the paperwork to add yet another son to her growing family.
