Developed by Alexey Sudaev, better known for his PPS-43 submachine gun, the AS-44 was an early Soviet assault rifle developed during World War II. Though the design showed promise, it was quickly forgotten following the death of Sudaev and the development of the AK-47.

(I'm thinking I should keep this little Arctic fox vixen as an official character.)
