The RPD is a Russian belt-fed machine gun developed during but just too late to see service in World War II. However, the weapon has seen extensive action across the globe during and after the Cold War, appearing in such conflicts as the Vietnam War, both the Soviet and American wars in Afghanistan, and the Rhodesian Bush War.
