Poor little Sam. Locks are for keeping honest people honest and... well, you're family really isn't. Most people that want past one badly enough or know how Will get past it. And we both know that no door lock is going to stop an Espeon from using psychic or confusion to unlock it without the key. Or just straight up teleporting past it... And besides, few doors period could stop a sufficiently determined Pokémon. Given enough time even a Caterpie would get through it.
