Lacey Callender and Luna Pepper proved themselves in Hollow Grove in a trial by fire, no pun intended. Their class guardians failed to stop Silt, a monster that oozes a viscous, lacerating fluid, leaving it up to these two soccer hooligans. With some supplies found around the school they fashioned crude weaponry and rose to the occasion. Proving their salt on the battlefield time and again since, they have become valuable fighters of the Hollow Grove crew.
They were friends before moving to Hollow Grove and had the amazing good fortune of their parents both wanting to move to the same place at the same time. Or more likely one of Hollow Grove's effects hit both of their parents at the same time. Their bond is a long standing and strong one. They're both on the same soccer team, both have endured the rigors of training for competition, and both have fashionista parents that try to doll them up. They're well respected and even have a few of the older teens rather well intimidated by them. They are sometimes affectionately referred to as The Smash Sisters.
took a shine to my little bruisers! I can't thank him enough for all the sketches he poured on for the sake of pure fun. =) (I had a lot of fun coloring the booster seat gag, but Nori colored the bump he drew.) All these extra pictures really...fleshed the girls out. :D
1. That day in the school. Yes, while the lights are out in the school, that is afternoon light. 2. Silt 3. Epic bump! 4. Lacey and Lu investigate a family restaurant. "Pffft! I can't believe we used to fit in those booster seats." 5. Lacey declares a butt war! 6. Lacey in a shorts dress combo vs. Lacey discovering why you shouldn't wear flowing skirts somewhere as windy as Hollow Grove. I had this hilarious mental image of her minding her own business, then a huge gust of wind smacks her in the face with her own dress. She pauses for a calm moment before flipping off the storm itself. Nori obliged brilliantly. XD
I'm so happy you finished this! Not just because I can finally share my adoration for these little hellions, but because you did a bang up job on it! The moody atmosphere, the subtly terrifying monster in the background, the Lucky Charms-esque patterning on those leggings- everything turned out awesome! I really like the lighting effects on the flame as well! And man, those leaves- you always have a tleast one detail that makes my wrist ache. *laughs*

Fuck me, you gotta warn a guy before you throw down an adorable gap-toothed loli with a butt that big, I almost died. XD They're very precocious and cute though, they've got a great sort of offset-by-horror sweetness about them, which gives it kind of a nice "This is scary, but it'll be ok" feeling, which I find is a really rare thing, as most horror goes for all one way or all the other.
