Yeah, i'm a huge fan of John Carpenter's movies and also of his awesome soundtracks. And i recently heard this theme again and could not get it off my head. So i've done this remix to make it sound like it could belong to a Mega Drive / Genesis game. I'm not sure if there was any.
It has some arrangement synch glitches but i didn't wanna put it into the scraps folder. Hope ya like it :)

I've got this (and others) on a disc of Carpenter's film music, and I listen to it regularly, so it's fresh in my mind. I like this remix! Tempting to put the talk-over on the end of it -- let the last 10-15 seconds vamp through to the end. You definitely remade the ending beautifully, taking out one voice/track at a time until there's only the one left. Nice work!

THANKS :D   And yes!!! The narration really should be in there. Love it how it already sets the dark atmosphere. Maybe i'm going to add a second mix with some speech synth narration for extra retro feeling :P  I will dedicate this to you then.
Snake Lives on!! I must say i really wouldn't dare to touch more of Carpenters works because i could only spoil these already perfect masterpieces. I'm still looking for the "the fog" soundtrack. Since i am doing films and making my own soundtracks as well, John Carpenter has always been one of my biggest idols. I adore this man and what he made.

This is a pretty good 16 bit cover to Carpenter's original score. What a classic movie. Wish I could say the same about it's somewhat average sequel Escape From LA.

Oh i have never really seen both movies completely. Only most of the second half on each of them. But yes, regarding the epicness of the story, the second movie is really weak (but a nice ending though :P ). Too bad the USA and kinda the whole rest of the world is moving towards that movies story :O
