It was past bedtime one night, a couple of days after Zhang and Annika bought the Land Rover. The family took a trip into town. As Mom drove, and Dad was trying to find the location of something on a map, Raphael was standing on the driver's side rear door, outside the vehicle, looking for butterflies to catch in his butterfly net as they rode along.
Mom would say, "Get back inside so you don't fall off!".
Then Raphael awoke in his bedroom at 3:20 am, still snuggled in his bed...It was one of those crazy dreams...Raphael dreamed he was standing on the door of the Land Rover catching butterflies.
"What a crazy dream", Raphael thought, then went back to sleep.

Though this is some private land track at the look of it, flat and they are the only drivers. And this looks like the late 50's? Even then with the kids rolling around that is too far.
What's his usual place in the truck?
