The moment I'm sure you've all been waiting for, the original Ghostly Trio. I couldn't have a countdown like this without them! And hey, why not go the extra mile and put in the mega form; 4 Pokemon for the 4th spot? Seems reasonable to me! Yeah from the get go, I planned these guys to rank as one of the highest, if not win the entire countdown outright and they would have if I hadn't come up with some reasons as to why I wanted others to best them. Still, it hurts me to even put them this low, second only to Scrafty Gengar is my second favorite Pokemon and it's Mega Evolution? So bad ass! It's one of the best out their and I think because I've always felt Gengar never looked like a worthy evolution to Haunter, it just looked too drastically different, the Mega form however I think bridges that gap and looks like a good Gengar/Haunter merger... but that's me! I may also be biased because Mega Gengar looks a lot like how I personally draw Gengar.
Given the fact that I've drawn Gengar normally quite a bit and have actually had it, Haunter and Gastly in a countdown before to represent Ghost-types, I almost just sided with the Mega form, as I've never drawn it before but while I prefer it out of the three, the entire family is such a great set that I couldn't do this without all of them and I think they deserve that. Originally they WERE the Ghost-type, you couldn't even say it was three, because really it was just one evolution. They are what comes to mind in everyone Pokemon fan's head when you say 'Ghost-type', hell, more often then not we all totally forget that they're part Poison, they're just that embodying of their ghostly element.
If I ranked on that alone, they would have won and know that in my book, I think they do win... but not technically. So with that in mind, think you can figure out who actually bested them? Stay tuned for the final days to find out~
