This is horrible for Rarity. I don't think anything she can say or do will convince Applejack. Heck, even if she tried to sacrifice herself to prove she is genuine by not doing anything to defend herself, I fear AJ will strike her down anyway - I know Little AJ would.

Really, the only way this could play out the best is if Rarity teleported away and, hopefully, Little AJ will incriminate themself by explaining that they were trying to 'purify' her.

...all right, Rarity didn't spell out the Nightmare thing to her face, but still: (a) not questioning your friend's somewhat familiar cosmic overhaul in the first place and (b) taking your meathead kid's word at face value after noting what a brawl-happy simpleton Minijack can be? Clearly the eldest Treekicker's been hitting her adult cider a couple barrels too heavy. Shoot to stun again, Squiggley-and keep shooting 'till somepone with a working thinker joins this party.

It's more that, it just gets to where there's no end in sight. AJ, I get it, it's her job, she's a hothead with hot blood, slice first and ask questions later kind of girl, so of course she's not going to listen, because she's going and has fought creatures with corruption for much of her life and knows the danger they can pose. But Applejack, while she had to fight, shouldn't be so quick to fight a former friend with clear lethal intent. It feels heavily out of character, and as far as I can tell, she's only acting this way to prolong an arc that seemed like it was just about to wrap up. Now, I'm a huge Dragon Ball fan, loved all of it thus far, and I think this has gone on long enough. At this point, Twilight needs to Deus Ex Machina her way in and clear this up, because this arc needs to be resolved.

Seconded on most of that, but never mind anypone (or dragon, or dracopone, or...) jumping in to bail Squiggley out. I'd rather see Nightmarity pull out a Zelda reference, bank the moon off Jackie's applesauce-filled noggin, then truss her up & drag 'em both to the castle for a Friendship 101 refresher course. 'Course, at this rate Rarity may well cold-cock her old chum just in time for Apple *Eden* to pop up & scream "MAMA? COUSIN? NUUUUUU DIEEEE FIEEEEEND!"
