Okay, maybe it's not the best idea for a Halloween costume, or even recognizable by 99% of people, but hey, Byron does what he wants.
This image (wonky perspective and all) was based on Mizoguchi, the star of Fighter's History by Data East. The few of you who do recognize that name will remember Fighter's History as the game so close to Street Fighter II that Capcom sued over it. Capcom lost, in large part because there were many, many games like this back in the 1990s, and Fighter's History was no closer to Capcom's formula than, say, World Heroes. (No, turning Zangief into Hulk Hogan doesn't make it a completely original game. Sorry, Alpha Denshi, but you know it's true.)
Anyway, Mizoguchi is a hot-blooded delinquent who could be best described as a prototype for Capcom's comic relief Dan Hibiki. His moves are all slightly awkward to perform, announced with cries like "Take-a-good-look-at-ya!" and "Kiss off!" (Well, that's what they sound like, anyway.) He's kind of pathetic, really, but charmingly so, just like Dan Hibiki. Also, he has the benefit of being slightly less lame than the rest of the cast, including a Chinese opera singer (?), a punk rocker named Matlok (??), and a clown so ugly he looks like he should be hanging out at the edge of a forest, hoping to scare small children.
Why draw Byron as this guy? Well, the bandages around Mizoguchi's midsection remind me of the infamous diaper peekage you see in babyfur art. So there you go.
