At this point I was starting to get tired of drawing that airplane, despite how cool it looks. These all started out as flat pencil sketches. So I had to draw the airplane over, and over, and over again.
Yay! His first time in the air with himself at the controls! And he got to to the takeoff on his own, too. I will never forget one time when a family friend took me up in a dual-controls plane, and allowed me to take the controls once we were airborne. It was awesome, now doubt about it, even though I knew he could take control back in a heartbeat if I goofed up. My instructor let me do the takeoff on my first flight lesson, and I always extended the honor to my students when I taught. You just gotta be close to the controls with them.
