GET A ROOM!
Las Vegas. What happens here, stays here. Or does it...?
"Hotel: noun. An establishment that provides lodging for a reasonable price," the General Manager of the Hotel San Venosa told to his new employee, Samuel Bishop. "There are lots of people that work at a hotel. Me, the General Manager, Dotty, the desk clerk, Milky, the concierge, and now, you, the night bellhop."
Sam is a river otter in his late 20's. In fact, the only human in the building was the Manager. "Do you even know where the term 'bellhop' comes from?" he asked Sam, who did not respond. "Of course not... It's so simple, it's stupid," the manager, named Simon, continues. "They ring a bell and you hop. You hop to front and center. No heroes in this line, Sam. Just men doing a job. No questions asked, none answered."
"So when does my shift start?" Sam asked.
"Monday," the manager replied. "6pm to 6am. Then, Milky takes over. The rules are simple: be careful around night clerks, kids, pets, prostitutes, and marital disputes, never have sex with the guests, and always get a tip, whether it's gum or greenbacks. You think you can handle it?"
"I know I can."
"Good." Simon then hands Sam a piece of paper with his phone number on it. "If you have any issues, just tell me, on the phone or in person."
"Get ready to take the desk Monday night. Have a good weekend." The two part ways at the entrance.
