Barbara doesnt need or want money because she has expensive tastes, but to pay for her comatose mothers hospital bills. She doesnt have much family, and even the little she does arent willing to help.
aaah you might ask why and idk part of it is something my mom used to tell me when I was younger.Something along the lines of getting out of the situation before she ended up dead, and us in foster homes. So I thought maybe i'll do something similar with Barbara's back story you know? Side note* I had this idea a little before mothers day, and I was gonna do it then, but didnt have time
This is a good bit of art and on a hard theme; hats off to you for it. Think her expression is perfect (the tears especially), and I quite like how you've done the light from the window; feel it really adds to the pic and you chose the colour well. Like the duvet with it's shading and creases too.
An interesting twist to the character's background; who would've thought? Actually feel a bit guilty as always assumed her an uncaring teen rebel (that'll teach me to judge!).

Oh, this is just heartbreaking. Poor Barbara. I can't imagine how tough it must be on her to have to take care of her mother like that, and to know that the rest of her family doesn't care. This is a really beautifully done image and the way that Barbara is holding her mother's hand and cradling it against her cheek is really touching. I like the way the hospital room is kind of faded and blurred around the edges, as if to suggest that, for now, nothing else in the whole world matters than getting to spend time with her mother. It really adds a new dimension to her character, and it's a really powerful picture.
