Wow, those must be really endurable fire that can even stand against underwater.

It's assumed that the flames of charizard are fueled internally and showcase as oils on the skin that combust in contact with the air or via internally supplied oxygen and other gasses, regardless of contact with water. I'd assume that typhlosion probably has a similar mechanic.

ok, I'll just fill you in then

The Cyndaquil family line has a series of holes where the body flames come out of. I think in the later games, you can actually see the holes on the body
