Hey, something non-pony for once.

Was catching up on Game Grumps when I drew this, and took a short break to draw Ruto, inspired by the Game Grumps working through the water Temple.

Idk guys, so much of the internet just seems to express kindergarten levels of “eeewwwww” when it comes to Ruto, and I don’t freakin get it; I think she’s adorable–and her redesign in Hyrule Warriors is especially gorgeous.

But people seem to be freaked out because she’s a fish or something. I mean, she’s basically a mermaid, why is it so weird? And like, every time someone wants to illustrate/animate the joke of how she’s crushing/obsessing on Link, they always draw her as hideously grotesque or something; haha very funny, you’re soooo original. What the frick gives?

But I guess that’s just par for the course of dealing with normies and their boring tastes. Ruto is super pretty and screw anyone who thinks otherwise.

Ruto is my waifu. She's pretty and classy and oh-so sensual.

Fish people are also basically pre-lubed, so that's a plus.

Yeah, I can't saw I know of the people drawing her "grotesque", but I do know some Zelda fans aren't into the pairing/draw anti-shipping stuff of those two. But I liked Ruto even before I played Ocarina of Time for the first time last year (on Nintendo 3DS)! :D Even if the way it ended tends to disregard the pairing, unless Link goes back to meet her under different circumstances and makes her fall in love with him again or the reverse happens (he falls for her), if not disregarding the ending altogether.

I have yet to play Hyrule Warriors, even though I've had it for a couple months by now. XD But she made for an interesting character (a semi-spoiled brat as a child who turned into a lovesick woman; which I found odd that after declaring Link her fiance, she's not seen again until her duty as a Sage is revealed) and I find it is still an interesting pair, even if they are from different worlds (with one being a land dweller and the other being amphibious, but likely can't go too far/long out of the water), heh.
