Summer is such a magical time of year when you're young. School's out and three glorious months stretch ahead of you, waiting to be filled up. For Jen, summer means the beach, sand castles and gallons of ice cream. Well, she's gotta get all that boundless energy from something.

Summer vacation... What a nostalgic time! Jen definitely looks like she's ready to enjoy it. Her expression, which I love, couldn't show that any better! (:

Oh, I absolutely agree. I think Grace actually said things best on her comment to the artist, when she said that there's this special sort of enthusiasm for things like summer and trips to the beach that only kids can really work up to, and

poo-ky did a wonderful job of capturing just the right look for that. It really does summon up all those memories of summer vacation, too, and how special and wonderful it feels when you're a kid. I'm really glad you like this little picture!

It's a wonderful time and still my favorite for all the memories it brings back. Plus now I get to see my nieces enjoy their time, too.

Aw, well I actually happen to think she's really cute, so I'd say that you are, too! You look better than I do, by a long way, and though you can't really see it here, Jen isn't the slimmest pup in the world, either. So she's certainly not going to judge!
