2nd June 1946 - 2nd June 2016; the Italian Republic today turns 70. What is even more important was the first vote where they had full right to vote even women; another big step forward for the nation, at that time. In a small way this country has given a lot and still can give more, and that despite the difficulties of recent years, is trying to get out of his dark period to return to truly be the "Belpaese" ;)
Buon 70° compleanno Repubblica Italiana!
In this drawing (one of the most complex I've ever created) there's depicted the "Frecce Tricolori" (official Italian aerobatic team, envied all over the world) while flying over the city of Turin, which was the first capital of Italy, with the "Alenia Aermacchi MB-339" airplane. Normally their flyby is almost always accompanied by the lyric song "Nessun Dorma", sung by Luciano Pavarotti (they performed in a commemorative flyby passage during his funeral, in 2007). Here a video of a performance in 2007: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMl48d5HNZY and here a special video about preparations and flyby of the squadron: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gy4qOMclHfQ *sorry, but there isn't english subtitles and the audio is only in Italian
PS: at the begin of the video you can hear the Italian National Anthem, "l'Inno di Mameli", here the text in original language:
Fratelli d'Italia, l'Italia s'è desta, dell'elmo di Scipio s'è cinta la testa. Dov'è la vittoria? Le porga la chioma, che schiava di Roma Iddio la creò.
Stringiamoci a coorte, siam pronti alla morte. Siam pronti alla morte, l'Italia chiamò. Stringiamoci a coorte, siam pronti alla morte. Siam pronti alla morte, l'Italia chiamò, sì!
Here a video of the yesterday's Air Show, near my city, where the Freccie Tricolori close the ceremo
