Ursa Major attacks Ponyville!
Look out, Scootaloo!

Didja notice in "The Cutie Mark Chronicles" that Sweetie Belle's horn does not poke out through her helmet, as it geometrically ought to?

(For that matter, didja notice in "The Show Stoppers" that only Scootaloo was wearing a helmet? I guess after that, Cheerilee had a talk with them about safety.)

(Also: didja notice that I am comfortably discussing characters with names like Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle? If you'd told me a year ago this would happen, I'd have ROLLED my eyes so HARD at you your PET MOOSE who lives in CANADA would feel it!)

I never liked that one Bugs Bunny cartoon. Too dark and dramatic and...opera-ish. XD

Um, that cartoon was the entire Ring Cycle (a trilogy of three-hour operas) condensed into one short.

Besides, Bugs looked HAWT as a skinny Brunhilde. ;)

Speaking as someone who is very familiar with the Ring Cycle and Romantic Period opera in general, that cartoon was pants-pissing hilarious.  It is loaded with operatic in-jokes.

"Well, what'dya expect in an opera? A happy ending?"

Well, to be fair, Sweetie Belle didn't REALLY change a great deal; she just happened to lose her talent in cooking, and her sister changed from Cheerilee to Rarity.

I'm guessing you're talking about the character from previous generations of "My Little Pony"?

Or as I call it, "prehistory"? :}

Yeah; when you said "(Also: didja notice that I am comfortably discussing characters with names like Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle? If you'd told me a year ago this would happen, I'd have ROLLED my eyes so HARD at you your PET MOOSE who lives in CANADA would feel it!)", I assumed you meant that you wouldn't believe that the old Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo would eventually evolve into these new (and infinitely better) incarnations.

I hadn't even heard those names before G4. My point was, they just sound like typical cutesy pony names.

Considering the helmets seem much bigger then the fillies' heads, I imagine most of the inside is padding.  So Sweetie's helmet probably has a hole in the padding to accomodate the horn, and hers just isn't long enough to warrant a helmet with a hole.

Yeah, you can even see her profile in one scene, and her helmet juts out enough in front to have room for a horn. Still, at first glance, it looks weird.
