This started as just drawing Ridley out of boredom, and as I did it really made me realize the amount of progress I’ve gained from the start of this whole thing. It’s always something that’s fun to see whether you’re the artist or just an observer though not commonly noticed until you really look back at the start of something and then see where it’s gotten to now. I’ve noticed it with series I keep up with and now I can see it in my own work which is pretty cool!
Of course this isn’t the first time I’ve noticed personal growth in my art and it won’t be the last, but I just felt as we’ve reached the end of issue one and move on to the next, it’s cool to look back and see from where I started. Some characters really changed and others... not so much. Regardless, each one has grown into themselves and become much more flexible as I’ve learned how to draw them better. I dunno, it’s a cool retrospective feeling and I like how these came out, especially Ridley’s.
And no, Pequina’s proportions didn’t change, it’s just further proof of my total inability to stay on model!
