Another entry in the alternate continuity that takes place at some point in the mid to late 90s -
Bunny and Ketzio are both the same age -- that being 11 -- their backgrounds have been re-imagined and the setting is now in the 90s, which we're very enthusiastic about drawing in that time. We do hope you enjoy the slight change in procedure, this is an entirely new canon, and, just to be clear, the other Bunny and Ketzio stories won't stop. :)

We love favorites, feedback, and comments. They are greatly appreciated! Especially those of you who pick up and some subtle nuance that usually makes us beam for the rest of the week.

Part 2

~~~
 Bunny couldn't sleep at all as his eyes focused on the dim bluish glow of the outside world. It was cast in slivers from the curtains of the living room window. He was partially bundled in a green quilted comforter; cradled on the floral cushions of the sofa with eyes transfixed on the same dreamy shapes on the ceiling yet his mind was elsewhere.
Bunny was absorbed in her, they had only met a day before, and still he could only bring that feline girl to mind: Ketzio.
There are exclusive rules to what makes a quality friend. Firstly, they must be around the same age, even two years can be the equivalent of a million, no 17 year old teenager would want to be around an 15 year old baby for example. Secondly, they have to similar in some way and Ketzio had that in spades; the things that made her tick felt so close to Bunny's own dreams and desires. They both wanted to do art and write: they loved horror films and comics, and most importantly, they had that same wander-lust.
Ketzio had promised, tomorrow, to take him to the book shop and show him around. His fingers laced anxiously as he slowly tried to force his eyes shut. He could see the books and magazines, smell the paper, and most importantly he could see and smell her.
Bunny's eyes shot open fast as a cold chill ran down his spine; why was she so fascinating?
He curled slowly onto his side; the couch lightly squeaking with images of her tail swaying and peeks of her tummy fluttering in his mind. His brow furrowed deeply. Bunny really wasn't sure how he could fancy a girl. He didn't have the same girls-are-icky-feelings most boys did, but he had also never particularly felt anything towards a real girl. Somewhere in his head the clear image of Ketzio lying in her bed formed: He could clearly see the shape of her small body beneath the blankets, as a rhythmic swaying bounces from her tail. He could visualize the thin straps barely hanging off soft shoulders with her hair spilled out in a web of white strands around her head like an exploded halo.
Bunny bit his lip and turned again, aware of his suddenly tense boyhood becoming rigid within his shorts. He closed his eyes tightly and tried fruitlessly to push the whole image away.
It would be another hour of imagining Ketzio's thin straps slowly falling down her arms before Bunny could finally sleep, though, it couldn't have been for long: It felt like not even 10 minutes had passed when he smelled the rich aroma of coffee and heard the soft clatter of his Aunt Sunny in the kitchen. A persistent light warmed his face as he resisted; turning and burying his head deep into the couch. He must have succeeded too as he was positive to have felt himself drift into a heavy sleep.
Something clutched his shoulder, an almost sudden clasp, pulling him out from sleep completely.
"I'm not hungry" he muffled into the crevice of the cushion, his tone an irritated slur. It was irrational, but his sleep-exhausted mind could only create those words. The grasp shook him again, slightly more sudden. He turned slowly half-expecting his smiling aunt. His eyes went from half-lidded joyless beads directly into bright saucers as he gazed directly at Ketzio. A beautiful denim skirt barely slipped above socks that went far over her knees. Her suspenders pressed her top against her shoulders while her unzipped hoodie hung low on her arms with small backpack-straps seemingly holding them in place.
"Your aunt told me you were awake." she snickered with her yellow eyes amplified her glasses from this angle. And then there was that smell, that rich sweet graham cracker cinnamon smell that permeated from her everything. "Get uuuuuup."
"How did you eve-" He was careful not to sound offended or upset as he slowly rose to sitting up timidly. It was fortunate he had taken to wearing his shirt and shorts to bed, so as the blanket fell off of him -- it wasn't his soft doughy boyish chest lamely exposed but instead a light grey bomb-omb shirt covered him.
"You're making it seem like I snuck in at midnight! It's like 11!" she smirked folding her arms with a small judgmental hip toss. "Do you normally sleep in this late?"
"N-not unless I stay up super late the night before." he groaned and then pointed to the side table where a few game comics and his Game Gear sat. It was a half truth but it's not like he would explain to her that he sat up imagining her naked all night like a creep-o.
"Weeeeell~" she said cutely, examining the pile of games before turning her attention toward him while placing her hands on her hips. "Can I sit?"
Without thinking Bunny pointed to the adjacent loveseat before catching her smile turn to a grimace. "Oh, um, sorry." he mumbled.
Gently he brought his legs up and she gingerly sat beside him. "You seriously are okay with sleeping in a living room?" She giggled into her sleeve and smiled playfully, but, she suddenly became a little apprehensive when her body fully conformed to the cushions. "Oh... wait. You're not naked, are you? I-I can leave."
"What! no no... um no!" He stuttered; sitting up straight with a weird hot glow filling his cheeks.
"Oh, well that's okay then." her words didn't match her actions as it seemed that she had tilted her upper body at an odd angle -- peeking at what was under his disheveled blanket just to see his bomb-omb shirt and cargo shorts. She caught his confused glaring and quickly returned to her upright position; whipping out her small backpack from behind her. As promised, she fished out a small neatly kept stack of well read comics: the pages had a slight wear, not from misuse, but from constant reading.
She placed the stack beside them and Bunny's eye caught one- A horror series with which a group of teens must fight paranormal entities.
"I always liked this series." Bunny hid a yawn and lifted the book. "Nala was always my favorite."
"Nala?!" Ketzio sounded surprised, as she set the backpack down beside the couch. "Why- she's so weird?"
"Well for starts: she always dressed super pretty- I just love her style. And I really adore her calm politeness-"
"Why don't you marry her then" Ketzio sounded almost snide as her voice took an odd upitch. "B-besides she's only like that because a ghost ate her sister. I don't think that's healthy."
Bunny fluttered his eyes a little. "I dunno. I really like the style though" He hung onto the thought for a few long moments before compulsively continuing. "Your socks are really neat."
What an odd blurt? he looked away feeling strange, but he felt like maybe he should've said something nice since he was complimenting Nala sooo much.
Ketzio was amazingly silent before inhaling to respond, but as her mouth opened-
"Bunny! I told your friend you were awake. Little miss, was he lying?" his aunt spoke in her normally sing song-way chirping delightfully as she strolled into the living room. Bunny could clearly see Ketzio become stiff and almost fearful, her ears dropping timid as that sudden semi-peeping tammy turned into a scared toddler. She looked at him with a somewhat apologetic expression.
"Yes, ma'am..." she called back.
"Bunny! Don't be rude," she peeked in from the hallway and immediately returned to whatever she was doing. "Go brush your teeth!"
Bunny, at that moment, so badly wanted for this to be a dream. He wished he was a bad kid so maybe he could reply something sarcastic to maybe make himself seem cooler in front of his friend but instead he just jumped out of his blanket and rushed to the bathroom with a meek smile. "One second!" he muttered to Ketzio.
No boy had ever dashed to the bathroom so fast and come out so clean in that amount of time before. Only in there for a minute and he had done everything he was meant to do to get ready for the day; even going so far as to somehow change his clothes. Ketzio swore she didn't see him go into the bathroom with extra clothes but... whatever.
He escaped the confines of his bathroom with a labored gasp for breath as he tried to recompose himself and 'normally' walk back to his bed-couch. His fingers fiddled with his hair to return it to its normal flat part. In his mind, he always thought he looked like 'The Crow' even if he looked... nothing like The Crow.
Ketzio was patiently waiting on the couch but there was something oddly exciting about this whole situation. He hadn't really pieced it together until he got a full view of it but he just realized that there was a girl sitting on his bed/couch. Where he sleeps. Every night. Since he moved here. Plus, she was unapologetically fiddling with her skirt's zippers and shuffling herself around anxiously -- there was just something adorable about it. As he neared her, he stopped; catching himself in the hallway mirror to give himself a quick inspection.
Where he found Ketzio to be perfect in her present form, all he could see, for himself, was goofy teeth and messed up hair and messed up... everything else. Oh well, at least he was clean. Still, his expectations were through the roof if he thought someone like her would even be partially interested in someone like him.
His self-degradation was cut a little short when he noticed that Ketzio had locked her eyes on him. "You okay?" she referred to his sudden weird pause in the middle of the room. Her tail fwipped side to side all over Bunny's blanket which, he also just realized, she had oddly moved which he was in the bathroom to sit on top of his blanket. Huh.
"Yeah, yeah." Bunny wiped his hand across his forehead; finally reaching his destination and plopping down on the couch next to Ketzio. He was once again delightfully assaulted by that scent of graham crackers that emanated off of her -- he almost got lost in the aroma until he realized that there was an awkward moment of silence between them. He had to say something and, luckily, the subject of her previously scraped knee came to mind. "How's your knee doing, by the way?" he felt that it would be weirdly rude to look down at the bandaid.
"Oh! It's fine," she lifted her right knee, guided by her hands, and plopped it on Bunny's lap. "See?" she pointed as she hooked her thumbs under the fabric of her socks and yanked them down to show off the now-scabbed knee. "How's it look, doctor?" she snickered.
"I... uh..." Bunny refused to look down; still thinking it would be rude. He wasn't quite prepared for all of this tension this morning and something as simple as a leg on his lap turned him into a gibbering mess. "It's uh... okay."
Ketzio leaned in a bit; confused but also amused by his evasive behavior. Pshaw, it was just her leg. "You didn't even look at it." she hiked up her skirt just a little bit to get it out of the way of the full view of the battle damage. "It was wicked bad yesterday! What if it gets all infected and you have to cut it off?"
Bunny knew, without looking, that she did something with her skirt and that prompted him to immediately abandon his notion of 'looking at the injury would be rude'. "Me?!" he shot back. "Why would I have to cut it off?!"
"Because you're the one who gave me the treatment so you're the one responsible." she responded matter-of-factly while absent-mindedly lifting the skirt a little bit further than necessary. Bunny didn't care if it was absent-minded -- he sort of wished she just kept doing that.
"It'll be okay." he said as he finally inspected the partially-healed area. He not-so-smoothly gripped her calf and thigh; pointlessly holding her leg in place as he overdramatically scrutinized the affliction. "Did you uh... put anything on it to help?" he said earnestly.
"...water?" she, also earnestly, responded.
"Well... good enough." he awkwardly patted her leg. "If it gets any worse, then we'll just put rubbing alcohol on it tonight or something."
"You're going to pour beer on my leg?" Ketzio couldn't help but blush. "That's amazing."
"No not-- never mind." he smiled and went to gently push her leg off of him but, oddly enough, felt a little bit of resistance.
She forced her leg back to the same position on his lap and intervened: "What was that last part you said?" she almost sounded a bit frantic.
"R-rubbing alcohol?" Bunny perplexedly stated.
"Nonono, after that!" she leaned in; fully engulfing him with her attention.
"Putting it on tonight?" he tried again.
"Tonight!" she clasped her hands together in delight. "I can stay for that long? Like... at your place?" in her joy, she unknowingly then clasped her hands together over his hand; sealing it to her thigh.
"...sure?" Bunny whimpered; unaware that the notion of staying over so late was such a foreign thing to her. "...you uh... still wanted to go to the bookstore, right?"
The stars in Ketzio's eyes were driven away for a moment so she could actually focus on whatever it was he just said. "Oh! Yeah, yeah." she nodded with no understanding and then spat out a: "They have this new card game there where you can like... collect serial killers and make them fight."
"Like the BTK Killer?" Bunny thought about it. "That sounds kind of funny. Also, if you want, after we go to the bookstore, do you want to come back here and get some milkshakes or go swimming or whatever?"
"Ahh!" she screamed with joy. "That pool looks so cool, too! I bet you thought I hated pools 'cause I'm a cat. Meow." though, a shadow cast across her face as she seemed downtrodden. "Wait... if I go back to my house to get my swimsuit, I can come back right?"
"Yeaaah?" Bunny furrowed his brow in concern. "Unless you want to swim with all your clothes on or something."
"Oh, no no, it's just I uh... well, that's not important." she giddily bounced on her seat and she, for seemingly no reason, closed in to hug him with her leg still planted firmly on his lap. She burrowed her nose into his collarbone and it almost felt like a kiss to Bunny which sent him into quite the tizzy.
He stiffened up; rigidly holding her as they lie silently for far too long. With each passing second, Bunny felt his ability to handle this intimacy weakening dramatically as it tore him into two separate directions: wanting this to end and wanting this to go on forever. Though, of course, this couldn't go on forever because he felt an all-too-familiar growing sensation down south near... Ketzio's leg. As much as it pained him, he courteously excused himself with all of the composure he had remaining in his little mind and scurried to the kitchen; leaving Ketzio dumbfounded but still immensely happy as she then began to simply hug herself.
When he was out of eyesight, Bunny began shuffling his shorts around to make himself less conspicuous before rummaging through the refrigerator and grabbing a couple of Mr. Peppers soda. He always found it funny that his aunt kept these glass bottled sodas whereas he couldn't even tell if his mom and dad knew what glass bottled soda was. Bunny went to snap the lids off of the bottles while impersonating his aunt's voice as much as he could: "You can taste the chemicals in the caaaans. Bottled soda is just plain fresher". He giggled to himself as the lids came off when he noticed a little voyeur to his right. He nearly jumped out of his skin but kept to a silent gasp.
He saw that Ketzio's socks were hiked up over her wound again and her skirt was a bit lower than he remembered. Also, something about the way her legs seemed to buckle in on themselves suggested that something was... wrong? He turned to ask but she started first: "Did I uh... make it weird?" she nervously smiled.
"Wha?"
"Because, like... you're the first boy that I've really been able to get to know well at all... besides my stupid brother," she added with a mutter. "And I uh... didn't really want to make it weird or anything but I guess that's because I totally have a cr--"
"You didn't make it weird at all." Bunny innocently replied.
"A CRAPPY FAMILY." her voice cracked as it felt like that wasn't originally what she was going to say. Her legs wobbled their last wobble as she lifted herself up and folded her arms with nervous confidence. "Yeah, they uh... don't ca-- I mean. I don't think they like me? I dunno, it's stupid. So I think it'd be cool to stay over here because I'd rather be anywhere else and uh... anywhere else sucks and this place is way better so like..."
Bunny approached her and silently handed her one of the soda bottles. He could feel his heart sinking. He grew up in a bad neighborhood so he was well aware of neglectful or just shitty families so he sympathized with her. Though, he couldn't tell why she was blushing so hard. Must have been because of the heat outside.
"It's not like they hit me or anything!" she waved her hands to defuse the bomb she felt like she was arming. "They don't lock me in closets or anything like that. They just don't like me as much as my brother I guess." she swiped the soda bottle and took a quick swig. "Huh." she added. "You know, now that I say that out loud... that's super depressing."
Bunny stayed quiet; not knowing exactly how to respond to that.
"Ah, but that's okay!" she nervously took another swig. "My brother is a genius freak anyways. So, err, yeah..." she lowered her head in defeat.
Bunny had an odd instinctual moment where he connected a few dots together. Hugging earlier made her happy. She's sad now. Combine these things. He stretched his arms out without a word and cheerfully gestured her closer. Ketzio, with her head still low, slowly walked directly into Bunny's embrace and they stood, frozen, for several minutes.
~~
It was nearly 3 in the afternoon as they traveled back to Bunny's house from the bookstore as a plastic bag of goods swung between them. A sudden breeze refreshed them as it blew back their hair.
"Aren't you cold?" Bunny suddenly piped up; tilting his head slightly toward his companion.
"What do you mean 'cold'? It's a pretty day and the breeze is awesome!" She coyly responded.
"Just seemed like a skirt might be cold is all" he partially shrugged.
"Well that's what long socks are for besides making me look totally awesome like a ninja. Besides, you might wanna check yourself out Mr. Pockets." She pointed to his black cargo shorts with a comedic amount of pockets. "Don't be so glum though. I think your shorts are super cool."
"You're just saying that."
"No seriously, I would love to rock boy shorts but as a girl there's like a law about it or something... and I guess I like skirts fine. Still, all those pockets and hiding places, it would be cool. Also it's kinda nice knowing you're not at risk of people looking up your shorts because that doesn't work for those."
He knew what she was referencing -- or at least he thought he knew. She was probably talking about how horrible he was at hiding his wandering eyes when she placed her leg on his lap. It forced Bunny to glance away shyly as he fidgeted in his step; wanting so bad to keep on the subject of what was up her skirt but not finding the courage. "Oh, well, you would probably look really... boss... in shorts."
Smooth. Nailed it. Fucking great.
Bunny wanted to punch himself at his inability to form words that didn't make him look like an idiot. His legs felt as if he were wading in peanut butter and a worrying shiver took hold of him.
"Good!" Ketzio announced; proudly stopping and putting her hands on her hips to face him. "Then after we swim, we could see what I look like in one of your shorts maybe. You could try this on if you wanted," she tugged at her skirt. "But I figured you uh... wouldn't want to."
"You can try them on if you want... but I'm not wearing your skirt. Are you kidding me?" He forced a laugh in an attempt to hide his growing anxiety. He imagined Ketzio in his cargo shorts and it stirred something inside of him. "If you bleed on it, you owe m--"
He stopped himself as he felt a sharp gaze pierce him. "Your cut! I meant your cut... on your knee?" he exhaled deeply; feeling as though a bullet just skimmed his arm.
"It's pretty much healed, remember?" she patted her bandaged knee as a car drove by honking its horn furiously. "But, tell you what, if this magically starts bleeding again then I'll owe you. I'll do annnnyyyyyythhhiiiing you want." She giggled deviously as Bunny tried his damndest to figure out if she was purposefully trying to tease him. He stumbled a bit. It was like every molecule of air was made solid around him. Just the thought of horrible, unspeakable perverse things he could do with such power! He could... he could... he didn't really know, actually. Get her to kiss him on the cheek? Or maybe...
"I didn't mean anything." he mumbled shyly; clearing his throat. "Just... being worried about that cut."
"Humm. You remind me of nurses at hospitals. I bet you'd be a cool nurse even if you're not a girl." She stated as she swiped her loose bangs away from her eyes and resumed walking. They kept silent for a few blocks as their respective sides of the street felt impossible to turn to. They would catch each other's glances and immediately shoot their eyes forward as they both racked their brains for something else to say.
As the distinct roofs of their neighborhood's houses came into view, Ketzio suddenly sped up and blocked Bunny off; stopping him completely. "Hey, uh..." she slid her feet back and forth on the pavement. "...Did you want to go back to your place while I got my swimsuit or what?"
"I sort of thought I'd..." Bunny stopped himself as he put two and two together from that little talk he had with her earlier about her parents being... not the best. "...I could wait outside, if you want."
"it's just I'm sure my dad is asleep and... well, yeah." She offered a genuinely cheery smile. "So, yeah! Stay outside for a bit and I'll be out as fast as I can."
It was another few blocks but they finally came upon a rather pristine looking two story home with tendrils of vines slowly climbing its white walls. The yard was dashingly crisp and immaculate; not a tree to play under, or a spot to hide. An oppressive bold lettered: KEEP OFF GRASS sign sat looming in the boxed hedges. Her home reminded Bunny of the kind of house he would see on dramatic soap operas his mom watched. It looked fake like a magazine ad.
Ketzio ignored the sign and sprinted across the lawn, stopping at the steps and gesturing to Bunny. "Stay right there please, promise you won't leave!" She held her pinky high in the air toward him.
"I promise!" he shout-whispered. Just being in the shadow of the house was enough to fill him with odd dread.
1 minute passed, Bunny stood still, trying not to look toward any of the windows.
2 minutes passed, he set the bag of bookstore goods down and stretched idly.
5 minutes. Concern grew as he worried she might be being yelled at or something.
7 minutes and change. The sound of skateboard wheels came, as from down the street Bunny could see another cat: A boy, a little older, but much shorter. As he rolled closer, Bunny could see that he was an organized punk with his clothing being top of the line -- somewhere between hip hop town and metal park. There was a wallet chain that gleamed on his hip and his hair was a mop of rigid spikes going in every direction that screams to the world: 'My mom does my laundry!'
"Hey, Sunshine." This kid stated as he stylishly kicked the board up into his hand. He had a striking resemblance to Ketzio if she was maybe shorter and less... refined. And a boy. "So... do I know you? You're standing in front of mi casa."
"Oh... sorry, I was waiting for Ketzio." Bunny refrained from eye contact with this guy.
The kid hiked an obnoxious eyebrow from behind his shades and then grinned as if he somehow recognized Bunny. "Bro! You're the guy! The legend!" the way he said legend made Bunny almost visibly cringe. "I'm messin'. Ketzio said something about hanging out with a friend... they must make em tall where you come from kid. Plus you must have weird taste if you're hanging out with her."
"I'm from Clamsburg." Bunny stated; purposefully disregarding the last bit.
"Yo! you surf? I used to boogie board 'till I cracked a rib." The boy cut in. "Yeah I would go down with my gang and we would surf and stuff. Lots of dudes from Clamsburg were there and they're cool people. You ever meet a girl named Latoya? She's like... a giraffe so her neck is nuuuuts."
"No?" Bunny said with a questioning inflection.
"It's cool. So do you need me to go get my sis for you or something?"
Ah, Bunny figured this must have been her brother. Good because he was about to get really mad at that crack he made towards her earlier... but if that's her brother then it could just be counted as sibling ribbing, maybe.
"Oh, no she just went in to grab something. She'll be out in a sec."
"She is probably taking a shower - she is a 'hyper-kodiak', like she literally has to shower 3 times a day. For a girl who thinks she's a dude, it's pretty weird. I'm like 'sis, I gotta drop a deuce!' and she is always in the good bathroom showering. Man its weird she always smells like chemicals or something."
"I dunno, I think she smells pretty good." Bunny shrugged, detecting a faint unpleasant new shoe smell of this boy.
"Weird. Anyways, you seem chill. I'm Kelso, but you could call me K.K. What's your name, Sunshine? See, it's funny because you're super dark." he bumped his fist against Bunny's arm.
"My name is Bunny."
"Seriously!? that's fuckin' grand. That's like if my name was 'kitty'." he nodded his head with the illusion of a revelation or discovery.
"Yeah. That would be it." Bunny wanted to will this guy out of existence but sadly that wasn't possible.
"So, dude, wanna go skating with me? Or like... hit up the arcade or whatever?" he open-palm slapped Bunny's back a couple of times with an air of chuckling. "You're pretty funny. Wait. You skate, right? You look like you do. I think."
"Oh, no. I'm waiting for Ketzio, remember?" Bunny politely stated. "So uh... sorry. Can't go."
"Aww come on! I think you and my friend Chuckie would get along." he eyeballed Bunny overdramatically. "You guys both have that calm thing going on, ya know? Plus, I bet your super dark colors would attract all of the goth chicks and... I dunno, they'd poke you and junk. They like poking dark things."
"No, really, I'm fine." Bunny backed up a little bit as he feared Kelso's reaction was going to be overdramatic like everything else he was doing. Maybe a punch would be thrown and his paranoia just led him to prepare for that. "I appreciate the... offer?"
"Ahhh, whatever. Next time then, huh?" Kelso dropped his skateboard and fastened a foot onto it. "You live around here? I could show you around."
"Ketzio beat you to it." Bunny nodded.
"Okay then, dude! See ya next time or whatever." Kelso hopped on his board and rolled up the driveway and onto the porch of his house. "Hey, sis." he said nonchalantly which jolted something in Bunny's spine.
He turned around to see Ketzio wrapped in a lavender towel as she grasped the straps of a backpack.  She tiptoed on the sunbathed cement of her driveway towards the little rabbit. "I'm sorry! I couldn't find my stupid sandals so uh..." she tightly gripped the folds of her towel with her tail drooping under it as if it were a dress. "...hey, uh..." she paused.
Bunny could hear Kelso loudly slamming the door behind him followed by the skateboard that he left leaning against the wall falling over with a loud bang.
"I know this probably sounds silly but... I appreciate that." Ketzio muttered.
"What? Waiting? It wasn't even that long, I just--"
"Nono! Like... Kelso trying to get you to hang out with him and all that stupid junk." Ketzio scoffed at her brother's name.
"Ooh, you heard that then?" Bunny felt weirdly guilty about the way he handled that whole situation.
"Yeah. I would've expected other people to hang out with him because he's way cooler than me and... more fun and everything but uh... yeah... silly, huh?" she scratched at one of her wandering satellite dish ears as she stared off at the nothing that was the neighborhood asphalt. "Anyways!" she cut Bunny off before he could even think to respond. "I forgot where my sandals were... and I also forgot where my swimsuit was so I decided to just skinny dip in your pool, is that okay with you?"
As soon as her statement was complete, she wandered off towards his house with an odd swaying-hip-strut.
"Okay." Bunny thought with his mind ablaze. "I think I might die." he stood frozen in indecision: should he follow her like he didn't hear her or just... question... her.
He grasped his bag of loot and, with wobbly legs, decided to take one step towards her just to realize she was almost across the street at this point. She turned around with a coy smile and asked if he was coming or not.
He probably was.
"W-wait!" he scurried to catch up to her. Despite it being only 20 feet, it felt like that forward dash took everything out of him. "I... wouldn't... mind... if you skinny dipped in my... uh... pool." his voice didn't even sound like his own as he panted heavily; his knees buckling under him.
"Haaah!" Ketzio covered her face in her palms with shivers of giggling fits. Bunny could only hear little squeaks of laughter passing through her hands as he nervously joined in on the snickering... though his was labored and confused. "You're such a weirdo! Of course I didn't come out here naked -- are you crazy?"
"Oh uh... yeah... I knew thaaaat." Bunny flipped his hand at her with a nervously playful scoff. "Of couuuurse."
"Speaking of," Ketzio dropped her backpack and approached the still-quivering Bunny. "Could you hold my towel for a second? I had to put the dumb straps down so I could do this joke in the first place." she gently tossed her towel to Bunny who stared at her almost slack-jawed. She was in a blue two-piece bathing suit that was... kind of frilly. The frills were cute though but he was surprised that she wore it so confidently after talking about how she'd much rather be wearing his shorts.
The top was bundling down her chest and he had flashbacks to his fantasies the previous night. Yikes, it was almost like a deja vu... except not really. Ketzio slowly wiggled and wrestled with the straps to get them properly secured over her shoulders all while Bunny quietly watched. He desperately tried to make it look like he wasn't staring too intensely but... it was pretty intense.
"Alright!" she shot her hand out and gestured for Bunny to give her towel back. "It's a--" she grew quiet with a puzzled expression which slowly turned to a starry smile. "Never mind." she snickered. "Are we allowed to go back inside your place?"
"Y-yeah..."
"And uh... how long was I allowed to stay again?" she clasped her hands together and shuffled as she awaited the inevitable amazing answer.
"However long you like, I think." Bunny said as she squealed a little in delight. "But, uh, what were you going to say? You were about to say something else before." Bunny really didn't want to give her the towel back but it would definitely be creepy if he outright withheld it.
"Oh, nothing~" Ketzio replied in a singsong way with her chesire cat-like grin that exposed her missing tooth stuck on her face. "Come on! I wanna see you in your swimsuit. I bet it's adorable~ Is it pink? I hope it's pink."
"It's..." now that Bunny thought of it, red was technically super close to being pink. Shit. Why could he never find black swimsuits his size. "...not pink. It's red."
"How short is it?" her tail wagged wildly. "Is it like a speedo? I hope it's a speedo."
"The heck is a speedo?" Bunny felt like he was suddenly being interrogated.
"Okay, so!" she dropped her towel again and gestured towards her bikini bottom. "Imagine this but without the little swirly thingies." she referred to the frills.
"Heck no!" Bunny blushed as he folded his arms and shut his eyes. "They're just regular swimming trunks!" the thought of his self-perceived doughy body encapsulating anything similar to what Ketzio was wearing filled him with such disgust.
"Trunks?" she pondered for a moment as Bunny waited for the next inevitable embarrassing thing to come out of her mouth. "How short are they? I hope they're short."
OMYGOODNESS THIS is so totally cuuuuute <3 <3 <3
I'm amazed at how much nostalgia this ushers to my own upbringing. I can totally relate to the scenery, the attitudes, the language... you guys are very talented at capturing the essence of the 90's through a literary standpoint. The awesomely adorable picture adds so much emphasis to the story overall, its uncanny.
Oh man, I love seeing posts from you guys... love it! Always guaranteed to make my day. Nice work on this combo! ;3
Thank you very much :) but don't get it confused! The 90s were a dark and horrible time to exist with those kool-aid men running amuck
PFFFFT! I dressed up as a Kool-Aid man for Halloween once. ;D Then the following year, me and a good friend dressed up as Ren & Stimpy. X3
Had to stop for a moment to realize what was meant, when the word "Tizzy" was put into play. Where I'm from if someone has a "tizzy" it means they are having a tantrum so was confused. However loving the cuteness of this series, wonder what would happen if the two had a sleepover..
Ketzio
Oh! We always thought it meant flustered or something like that ^^ But we did look it up and apparently it means both either nervous excitement or agitation :) and thank you for your comment! Perhaps they'll be having a sleepover sooner than you think~
From this story one can already determine a certain little kitten is thinking on naughty ideas concerning a certain bunny. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into their cute interactions. Either way, love any stories with Ketzio and Bunny, well and any stories from you both too!
You guys are so good at story writing. I love this so much. I feel happy reading these stories and seeing the pictures that go with them. The only thing I don't like is the part where I have to wait to read more. But you guys are incredible
