I don't know about deserves her more, they've both done some pretty selfless/heroic things to protect her in the GNS. Bast also did actually ask her out, which coming from me as someone that rarely did the same with the people I had crushes on, puts him higher on a list of "deserves" as far as a date goes. Not saying that Mace doesn't deserve his chance as well, just that Bast definitely earned his.

Yes, he physically assaulted Mace for grabbing his scarf. Mace fought back, and then at a later point stole his wallet and used his money to pay for a ride, followed by throwing said wallet in the water. Bast then tried (unsuccessfully) to throw Whip in retaliation. Bast then left them tied up with Grunn later. When it comes to actions pertaining to the other, neither Mace nor Bast come out on top. Whatever reasons they may have for being jerks doesn't excuse their actions. So I'm going to follow your final statement with, neither of them deserve Lilith/she's too good for either of them and both are lucky she gives them the time of day.
