This is the last of four poems I did for my creative writing class. We were allowed to write the poem on whatever we wanted, but we had to follow the "villanelle" poem structure, which had very specific rules about rhyme and syllable count. This was the hardest of the poems I did, but ultimately, I think it's my best poem.
I've been obsessed with kobolds for the past couple of years. When my professor suggested that we write about our true passion, I decided to go with what I want to do most: writing. It's no secret that my dream has been to been a writer (novelist specifically), hence the title of the poem. And I thought I would demonstrate that by actually telling a story through the poem about a kobold who was destined for greater things. Without giving any details, I essentially summarized my idea for my first trilogy of books that I want to write.
Anyway...here it is. Comments and constructive criticism are, as always, very much welcome. :)
