I suppose that's true. I bet it still affects his balance and movement though. :c
Just a thought, wouldn't "None" be more accurate than "N/A" under Children? N/A would seem to imply he's a species that doesn't reproduce or something.

It does affect his balance, he tires quite quickly (I have a nice tender scene in the story where Desmond gets his nether dragon of Simon holding Jake's head up with his neck to make it easier for him to walk when they are travelling).
I used N/A as it was relevant for the the age they are roughly portrayed as in the sheet, so that could change in the future. But I do see what you mean, None would be better.

I love the mental image that brings up, very caring. n_n
Thinking on it again later, I wonder if someone could rig up some kind of counterweight or prosthetic tail that might make it a bit easier on him, even if it wasn't as soft and noodley as the real deal. :-)

I've only read a little of this whole thing you've got going on (I've enjoyed Size Matters 2 so far, though), but I do love Jake. Poor guy still stays strong despite all that's happened to him, it's great :)
I'm a bit confused by the "sees his partner as both a brother and a lover" bit, though, I don't really get it. Would you mind elaborating on that?

He was adopted into Simon's family at a young age but Jake and Simon were friends before then. They later became lovers, but some Viridi still see them as brothers, so Simon would rather play to that than have to explain the implied incest... I hope that makes sense :)

So they're acting like they're nothing but friends and adopted brothers to avoid awkwardness, but they're actually lovers in secret and think of each other not as brothers but as lovers? I'm sorry if I don't get it ^^;

Simon sees Jake as his childhood friend and lover. Jake sees Simon as brother and lover. They are both a couple.
If Simon is uncomfortable then Jake will show him as much affection as brothers would show each other. If Simon's ok with the company, then he'd be more affectionate (standing close, whiskers intertwined etc). It's not so much that them being lovers is a secret, but that some see them as brothers because they knew them growing up. This is mostly due to Simon's insecurities and private nature.
I'll try and reword it :) Simon sees Jake as his childhood friend and lover. Jake sees Simon as bro
I think I get it now. It's not "I'm attracted to you intimately because you're my brother", it's "I love you as a lover and also on a separate level as a blood brother"? Kind of like two colleagues appreciating each other as colleagues and as lovers separately, both of those fond feelings existing in separate chambers of the heart... or something. XD Am I close?
Well, as long as I can think of it as not being incest, I guess I'm fine with not understanding it completely, so from now on I won't bother you with stupid questions any more than I already have. I'm sorry, I just want to understand because that's how I get with fiction I'm invested in, I want to understand how it all works XD

From Jake's perspective, yes. He loves Simon romantically and also grew up with him as an 'adopted' brother so they share that bond too. But they were friends before Jake was brought into Simon's family. It was a love that developed overtime, and Simon is uncomfortable with others viewing it as incest, even though they are not brothers by blood. I don't want to give spoilers away but I think how the story plays should explain it.
I don't really think of it as incest, more of a romantic relationship that developed after a partner was welcomed into the family. It is a complex relationship and one that I can't fully explain unfortunately without stating plot points to give it context.
It's a good question actually, I'm quite motivated by someone being that invested in the character already. Also helps me a lot to hear how someone else has interpreted an idea and I'm quite happy to explain things in more detail :)

They do, and I think it should end up being quite a nice story. In a way it's an continuation of Desmond and Chani's story too so it should flow really nicely :)
