Character Sheet for Guanenda Teuthida
Character Description
Nanny is an Enteroctopus, a species that in mythology is capable of taking human form and even understanding language and culture enough to adapt to live in society among other sentient races and in fact she's unique in this respect. You see Nanny isn't a creature from normal civilization like humans or anthropomorphic animals or a wild animal with a human-like mind, she's a creature that is wild and feral that has adapted into modern society. In many ways that makes her even more intelligent than all the creatures that live in civilization in that she can curb her instincts and learn to follow complex laws, morals and social rules that are way outside her understanding. She currently babysits Ordn Doronko on a regular basis and is rather reserved and shy by nature but can act being social if the situation calls for it. She has to try very hard not to let her instincts take over but one instinct she is reluctant to ignore is her love for children. Just like an octopus she has no bones and can transform herself to appear like other animals even imitating other civilians right down to their habits and mannerisms. In fact it has become a bit of a parlor trick. Nanny is very physically strong especially at holding things and she can seemingly vanish but only if the person watching is directly in front of her.
Personality
Nanny is a successful social manipulator and capable of making rather well planned schemes. On the face of it she's the rather bland and awkward and often doesn't understand many basic concepts. However when she wants to she can be pretty social and her excellent memory and observational skills make her very good at surviving in civilized society. She tends to prefer to have a small clique of close friends but often shrinks into the background except when she has something important to say. She loves expanding her knowledge and if she finds someone equally clever she can have long excited conversation until she surpasses their level and has to slow down a bit. She's very protective of children, perhaps too protective and if angered she can go completely off the deep end sometimes and has to really try to stop herself though she'd never turn her anger on a child. She can be really selfish if she finds something she really wants but almost all the time she's aware of how people see her.

Background/History
Nanny is not your typical anthro in fact she's not an anthropomorph and not even an animal that has a human-like mind. She is in fact completely a wild animal, though being the species of octopus she is she's capable of pretending to be like the rest. She was born from a clutch of eggs hidden beneath a jetty in Olrit Harbor. She spent her early life swimming around eating little fish in the harbor until the area became a bit crowded with other octopi and dangerous to stay in and so she headed downstream to Diegoltun. The harbor was full so she went to the beech. Wandering around the shoreline she observed the land dwelling creatures and soon spotted another of her kind pretending to be one of them. She beckoned him over and they arranged to meet at a nearby cave at night. On meeting him they had a long conversation about everything that existed out of the water. They continued to have these talks for weeks on end until the knowledge ran dry. Nanny asked where the rest of the knowledge was and the other octopi had no answer other than "find it yourself". Nanny was just about to turn the conversation onto the pair's relationship with each other when the stranger stopped her dead in her tracks and left. Being afraid of leaving the water, she begged him to come back, knowing that if he left he would never return now that he had taught her everything. She stayed in the cave until the following night but he never came and night after night she never saw him again nor did he appear on the beech. Nanny then knew she had to go on land to find him and managed to steal some clothes from some swimmers and walk into town. It was exactly as the other octopi had said so she found it easy to fit right in. She got a job as a teacher but soon found that the kids were no where near her level so she decided to be a babysitter instead. There were a few opportunities around town but one family stood out. They were a Doronko family from the river so they understood the importance of it. Since then Guanenda has been Ordn Doronko's Nanny but she never saw the octopi from before ever again. Other octopi would turn up from time to time at the water's edge but few of them were anywhere near as capable as she was and often screwed up trying to integrate on land by forgetting important things or rushing into it. She's still yet to find someone who can match her level.
Relatives/Family
Nanny doesn't really have the same kind of feelings as everyone else towards her parents. To her they may as well have not existed. However she has a love similar to distant relatives for all squids and octopi, which is a rare trait even for her species that is if she gets to know them. If she sees a dead squid she might freak out but more along the lines of finding a dead body rather than a dead relative.
World/Setting
The Valhalor world is a mixture between real-world, fantasy and sci-fi settings with the second item being a more dominant factor. There are 8 islands in Valhalor, 5 of which are divided into multiple countries. Many years ago there was a war between the Dozers of Meka Island and the Yovans of South Island, which resulted in Valhalor being divided into 2 warring alliances. Monsterville is a country in South Island that is strongly fantasy themed, though Olrit county in particular is very much modern day. Monsterville is mostly forested and has a European look. It's home to a lot of unusual wildlife and often hazardous kinds. Diegoltun City is the main setting for the Monsterville game which this character is from. The city has a wide range of businesses from shops, craft works and restaurants to offices, entertainment and tourist attractions. There are also several smaller villages around Diegoltun and the city itself is sat next to a much larger city known as Olrit.
Body
Nanny is a deep red colored octopus with white bands on her arms, legs, hands and feet. She also has white in and around what appear to be her ears and mouth.
Clothing
Nanny wears a turquoise sleeveless crop top and miniskirt combo.
Accessories
Nanny has a turquoise veil over her mouth and cheeks that sits snug. She doesn't suffocate because she actual breathes through what look like ears.
