Ever since I ran across the term "faeline" online a few years ago (it's been used by a few different artists and writers), I've had images and potential characters flitting into my imagination, and this is one of them. Started as a quick sketch that turned out well enough to add color (no, that's not a bad crop, the tail actually goes off the bottom of the page like that -- it was only a 5 x 7 sketchbook). I'd like to do a small series of these, whenever my muse drags me back into drawing again.
I leave it to the viewer to decide if this is a regular-sized cat with really big butterfly wings, or a teeny-tiny cat with regular-sized butterfly wings. Your call.
Prismacolor pencil. No crits, please; I have a cat, so I know the anatomy's a bit odd. I mean, you know, besides the wings. >^_^<
