Just a sketch for now ^^ I was gonna wait till this was done, but once again gave into my strange compulsion to post unfinished drawings! I did this drawing last year around this time in May while I was on vacation. I left my computer and laptop behind, brought my camera, clothes, drawing pad, and a book to read. That was literally my whole suitcase. At first it drove me crazy, but slowly I started to adapt. I took a lot of walks outside and talked to people around the area.
On one of my favorite roads, there are these older, smaller houses at the beginning. They're raised up on stilts to keep them from getting flooded. All the plant life outside was doing it's thing, growing like crazy, it was beautiful. And there were plenty of birds and bugs among the puddles. It had rained a lot and everything was soaked and dripping wet. Everything smelled earthy and the air was thick, humid, and warm. Maybe that's a lil hard to appreciate for most folks, but for reference it's snowing outside right now in the middle of May where I am......
That's basically where this picture came from, and it never would have happened if I hadn't taken those walks outside in that particular place. I love summer time and summer rain. It's my happy place. That's what I wanted to put into this picture ^^
Also, this lil guy will be your best friend forever in drawing ;)
Aaawww really lovely picture Whippy ... love the sweet li,l details in it ... i find it really heartwarming and relaxing ... remind me when i was a kid when everything was simple an with no prob at all ... thanks remiinding me this wonderfull period :) ... make me all ''fuzzy'' inside me
