I'm not a furry, but I am a big fan of furry art and artists. Too much Tom & Jerry as a kid, I suppose. Me? I am more a writer than an artist and more a voyeur than a writer. Really too old to try being a furry... have enough hair on me without being a tiger or bear :D
I guess you could call me "furry-friendly" in the same vein as "gay-friendly" gets used. I like anthro art mostly from a childhood filled with Bugs Bunny and Tom & Jerry cartoons, followed by years of playing weirdo RPGs like Advanced Dungeons & Dragons with its Dragonkin, Gargoyles, Gnolls, Hengeyokai, Rakshasa, and Satyrs as player race options, Werewolf: The Apocalypse with its Ajaba, Ananasi, Apis, Bastet, Camazotz, Corax, Garou, Grondr, Gurahl, Kitsune, Mokolé, Nagah, Nuwisha, Ratkin, and Rokea, and so on. I got turned on to the Furry artist community because you guys make images of things I can only describe with words. I may be handy with words, but you know what they say about a picture being worth a thousand words....
I am pretty handy with words, not so handy with a mouse or graphics tablet. I do pretty well as a draughtsman, but mapping a floor plan and rendering a building isn't anything like drawing or modelling a living breathing organism. So, like any sensible man, I admire those who can do it as skilfully and easily as you guys do it.
What I plan to do here is watch and learn, support the artists with encouragement--and money when I can. I don't plan on donning a suit and running off to a con at my age, but who knows, a guy can always surprise himself if he meets the right person and--as H. P. Lovecraft said--the star are right. ;)
