Political Compass

Where do you fall?

--

I've been fiddling around with my new 'about' page ( http://blog.datapacrat.com/about/ ). I've taken three different two-axis political quizzes ( http://www.politicalcompass.org/ , http://uselectionatlas.org/TOOLS/POLMTX/thetest.php , http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz (though I had to flip the third one's graph to fit the others)) , and they've all put me around the same area - 'left libertarian', extremely left socially, moderate-to-strong left economically.

My result from Political Compass:

Economic -6.12, Social -7.64

--

My result from Political Matrix:

Economic score:  -4.39
Social score: -9.57
Your score pegs you as economically moderately leftist and socially far-leftist.
Moderate economic leftists generally support regulation of free trade and business to assure that workers are fairly treated and prices remain stable.
Social far-leftists generally believe that the government has no business enforcing morality on most matters, instead favoring a government that intervenes only when absolutely necessary to avoid direct harm.  Many social far-leftists also look negatively on the government's past attitudes toward groups they view as persecuted, although some simply oppose government intervention on utilitarianist grounds.

My result from World's Smallest Political Quiz:

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 100%

Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 30%

Liberals usually embrace freedom of choice in personal matters, but tend to support significant government control of the economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net" to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations, defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles.

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -4.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.97

Economic score: -1.94
Social score: -1.91
Your score pegs you as economically center-leftist and socially center-libertarian.
Economic center-leftists typically support above average controls on free trade, raising or maintaining the current tax levels, but still support free trade.

Social center-libertarians generally have moderate social views, with a slight lean toward avoiding government intervention. However, they support government intervention in matters that they see as threats to society.

I landed pretty much near you. Slightly higher and a teensy bit to the left.
Directly below Nelson Mandela in your picture.
Whatever that means XD

I've left this in my InkBunny inbox for a while so I could do it later, 'cause it seemed interesting. But only now did I notice the link to your about page, on your blog, and thus, your blog. Didn't know you had one. Put it in the blogs folder of my bookmarks. Really need to set myself up one of those RSS readers one of these years.

Your about page is a real piece of work. As unique and bizzare as you are. In a good way! <3

So much data...

Anyways I'm doing the first test now. Interesting questions. Mostly stuff I've thought about before. This idea took me by surprise though: Schools should not make classroom attendance compulsory.

Interesting issue. Had to give it some thought. I don't think attendance being mandatory as it is now is the problem, though there's definately a lot of problems with the education system. But then, why does it need to be mandatory? If schools were working properly, parents and kids would WANT to be there, wouldn't they?

But then, to compare socialized education to socialized medicine, should people be forced to be treated medically when they choose not to? Maybe, given that education wise, and thus medicine wise, we're talking about children. It's standard practice to consider them unable to make major choices like this at their stage of development.

Anyways intersting food for thought.
Political Compass:

Economic Left/Right: -5.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.08

Political Matrix:

Social score: -6.96

Your score pegs you as economically moderately leftist and socially libertarian.

AfSG:

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 80%

Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 20%

According to your answers, the political group that agrees with you most is... LIBERAL

Well, that was pretty short and it seemed a bit more biased. The first set was almost all yes and the second was almost all maybe. ^.^;;

My ideas on economics are too different to fit into that sort of test.

Anywhizzle, interesting stuff.
