Comment Locking

Hi everyone

We have just updated the site to a new version. This is just a quick announcement about the most interesting changes.

We have added Comment Locking to Submissions and Journals, which means owners can choose to lock these to prevent any further commenting.

We have also added the ability for individual comments and threads to be locked by the Submission or Journal owner. Locking comments and threads means no one can add any further replies to these.

A full official announcement about these changes and the other minor updates will be made soon.

This is seriously awesome. Really solid and useful update.

Is having "locked" next to every shout necessary, though? It seems like it'd be obvious that shouts would be locked considering there's no "reply" link next to them. It's not the biggest problem in the world or anything like that; just seems a bit distracting.

I'm curious, though, are you going to add some more text editing BBCode, like [big] / [small]? =3 I'd also like to see a quick and easy name linking like

In b4 more trouble tickets and less comments which gives suggestive corrections for the poster to solve 'issues' at 'member-level' instead of 'member-admin-level'?

This is cool. We really need the ability to delete our comments too. The 10 minute edit thing is nice but sometimes I'll think of a better way to say it, after the time is up. Sometimes I really wish I could delete my comment entirely. Like when I wake up the next day after getting drunk and I realise I said something stupid lol.
