back in the old days of cartoons, animators had to go through a lot of hell from their bosses, animation studio producers and even snobish critics, as a result, animators, cartoonists and other artists began to think of a way to tell these people off without being too distasteful. then a gag was created to not only be taboo to certain viewers, but as a way for artists and their like to vent or lash out aginst such discrimination.
the gag has many names: "Rear's Revenge" and "Full Moon" are just a few examples, but the root name is the "KMA (kiss my ass) Gag". the gag will have a character (in 90% of the cases, a female one) sticking their butt out towards the viewers/readers. the gag has made its way in animation throughout the years and still exists to this very day. in most cases, the gag has the character using the gag in an innocent show of posterier, during a musical segment, or in today's media, used as a taunt. and those are just a few of the gag's variations.
