Wonderful news for any who care. My mom decided to move my laptop over so that she could sit and work while I was asleep. She did not realize the amount of heat this thing produces, however, and thought that the exhaust went out of the bottom, like hers. Mine, however, goes out of the back, and the intake is on the bottom. When she moved the system, the exhaust vent was put right up against the arm of the couch, and the system was flipped, so that the intake was covered by the cushion (like how it would sit on my lap).
Because of this, my system overheated (majorly) and shut down. However, serious damage has been done. The entire back of my laptop is warped and melted, the access cover has been warped, and some interios support posts have been partially melted. Best of all, there is a hole melted thru the arm of the couch, and I now get a processor damage error when I start my system, so I think that some of it has been burned or some shit. Luckily, the unit still works, but it's buggy as hell, and crashes at odd times.
So here's the thing: I need to attempt to raise money for a replacement laptop. My goal is $900, since I'd like to get a replacement of the same model. However, I will see what I can do with what I make.
