So, I've been thinking a lot about commissions and I think I'm going to get that ball slowly rolling again, considering I work part-time to what seems to be a maximum of 24 hours a week. This gives me more time than my old job to whittle away at commissions. It'll be a little slow going still, but I plan to keep going through my list indefinitely unless I state that I am putting things on ice at any moment. (Vacations from commissions are likely periodically throughout the year!)
That being said, I was going to increase the prices again on my works. I don't want to pull a shoulder patting myself on the back or anything, but I will say that writing takes some considerable time and effort. It's a bit of an arduous process. I've done some looking around and, well, people have made it pretty clear to me that I'm not selling myself for what I'm worth. Taking that to heart, the process will change across the board for the pieces I offer.
The increase is $10. Still undercutting it, as far as most other writers are concerned, but the payout is more rewarding for my time spent. That means things are as follows:
$25 for a 3,000 word piece, $35 for a 5,000 word piece, and $45 for a 7,000 word piece. If you want to break it down for no reason, you're paying less than a penny per word.
I realize that for some people this will limit their options for purchasing work from me. As you may recall, I've done up my list based on what people are willing to pay for, and have marked it down for my reference.
The list is here for everyone to see, and is available on my front page as well for anyone who would like to check up on it. If you are on the list and the new prices inhibit your availability in any way, inform me and I will change the information accordingly. This way I know what you want and will work around that with you when the time comes.
If anyone would like to be added to the list, please feel free to let me know and I will slap you on there right-quick.
Should anyone want to be removed, no pressure! Just let me know. I'm almost 30. I'm a big boy and I can take it.
I am considering opening commissions starting next week. There is no deadline for being added to the list, and the order in which the list is presented is not a hard rule - it's not unlikely that people may skip their turns due to some circumstance, so it is possible to be up before you might expect to be.
A reminder that the list goes top to bottom. New additions are thus far added onto the bottom (but if I want to fidge the order and let new people go, I'll do so.) This means that I will always begin at the top and work my way down when accepting another commission. WARNING: If you are in the first slot I will be bothering you a lot. If I should skip you indefinitely, or for a period of time, please let me know so I can make a note of it.
As always, when someone's turn comes up, I will message you! I'll simply ask if you're available and willing still (as per your agreement when applying to the list). You give me the yeah or nay, and we proceed from there. I have a google form I give out to poll you for information regarding what you would like to see or have done, and I compile the information separately so that I can access it offline in the event of a network failure; either on my part, your part, or the site's part. Alternate forms of communication can be given so that I can reach you wherever you like, or as a backup for these situations. (Please, no phone numbers!)
