Ughghg, work

by
It's been, and is gonna be a long week at work, night shift with my worst coworker til Sunday, so no doubt that's gonna be a blast for me... I even forgot a TMI Tuesday journal yesterday lol ^^;... I'll be trying to work on my two commission fics a little in my time after work though.

So, I guess I figure I'll just casually ask; Any of my watchers have any workplace stories about shitty coworkers, bad bosses, or idiot customers lol? I've got plenty of all three of those, maybe some of you share my pain, and would like to unleash a rant for catharsis' sake X'D?

Oh, I feel ya man... I've been working every day since Saturday. While some were short, yesterday I pulled a shift at both jobs (5am-10am for the first, and then 4pm-10:15pm for the second), and the smaller retail store I work at for my second job has been ludicrously busy the past few days... And then today I worked a full shift (working more than six hours in a day is rare for me), getting home at 6, and I have to go to bed soon for my next 5-10 morning freight shift. Urrgh... I'm SO glad I'm off the next few days to recuperate XD.

Anyway, yeah, I have a few crazy customers and stuff. Like today, this one lady came in and my GOD did she take forever... She already had several things on the register and as I was ringing her up, she was trying to find a lighter that had an adjuster for the flame. Despite having people behind her, she was taking her sweet-ass time... I was like 'c'mon, hurry up...' I had to page my coworker so I could finally have the poor guys behind her get checked out while she was off in la-la land.

Oh geez, double shifts are some bullshit; I've only done two of them ever, and I wanted to burn the place down when I was done lmao X'D I never thought that two days off in a row could feel like a vacation, until I worked here X'D

Heh, sounds like retail gets the same kind of rude, inconsiderate customers as the restaurant business XD We'll get people who come in during a lunch rush, and they'll have been in line for like 10 minutes, there's still a ton of people behind them waiting, and we're like "What can I get for you?" and they go "Ummmmmmm, I'm still thinking." .... I want to slap them in the face from over the counter lmao X'D

They don't like to have me on the register at work anymore because I made a customer angry by turning him away when he asked to purchase access to the buffet five minutes before its closing. He tried to play it off like he'd been waiting for like fifteen minutes to be serviced, but I told his lying ass that he has a really dilated misconception of the passage of time. Since then, I've had very little to do with the customers themselves.

More recently, I turned in a time off request sheet to go to a convention last weekend. I gave myself an extra day off to recover, which I definitely needed, but by that time, I was back at home. I got frantic calls in the morning asking where I was, and it turned out someone else did that week's schedule, and they didn't know that I had that day off. I played it like I was still a three-hour drive away, and they got the newbie I'd trained to do as much of my job as he could in what little time he had. I waited a believable amount of time and showed up out of nowhere to see if they needed my help, and sure enough they did. The manager was going to take over the second half of the job, and was looking forward to getting paid her much higher salary to do my lowly job while ducking out of her managerial duties, so when she saw me there, the disappointed shock was palpable, and she tried to send me home on account of the fact that they were now overstaffed. One of the other supervisors saw herself out to let me work after my alleged long drive back just to save their asses, and has actually turned in her two-week notice after witnessing that injustice, which is made extra funny by the fact that she's been there longer than anyone else.

LMAO, I wish they'd let me not have to handle customers directly X'D We get people who come in five minutes before closing, and get all pissy when we don't have some of the hot well options (cuz we begin closing stuff down in the hour before closing, which includes emptying any hot well foods we have left) or ask "Is your bread FRESH?".... I always wanna be a sarcastic ass, and be like "Why yes, we keep the oven running with fresh bread being baked just for our customers who arrive five seconds before we lock the door. WE STOPPED BAKING BREAD 5 HOURS AGO, YOU IDIOT, NO IT'S NOT FRESH!" Or people who come in five minutes before closing, KNOW we're closing, and then sit down to eat their meal... it's like "Um, are you gonna shove that 12 inch sandwich and a bag of chips down your throat in five minutes, or are you just a moron? GET OUT NAO" lmao X'D

WOW, that manager was an ass to try to send you home, after she thought you'd just driven 3 hours to come help them out X'D... I wouldn't blame the other supervisor for giving a two week notice after that bullshit. My manager texted one night, and tried to short notice me (I live about half an hour away from the restaurant, and I get a ride there; I made it clear to him when I started that once the initial schedule is released, I'm LOCKED into that schedule), telling me I needed to do a 10AM to 3PM day shift tomorrow, on my day off... I was pissed, and texted back that I rely on a ride, and they run off the initial schedule I send to them, and that the earliest I could make it was 12PM. He never responded... so the next day, when I show up at 12PM, he's there, and he's like "Oh, I thought you weren't coming, so I was gonna stay, but now that you're here, I'm gonna head out!"... I was so fucking pissed, because the only reason he tried to short notice me was because he didn't wanna work his whole shift, and even if I left right at that moment, he'd have still essentially wasted an hour of gas for my ride, made me wake up early for nothing (I sleep til like 2PM on my days off lol), and wasted time of my day off for no pay, so I just sucked it up and worked the 3 damn hours lol.

XD yeah sounds like it. I was lucky enough to avoid food work. And really only deal with people a lot with the second job XD. Ooh, a double shift at one job does sound rough... I'd hate to do that.

But I have used that. Even its annoying when customer are dumdums or boss and management.

But then there is happy and awesome moments :)

But I have rule that when i get home i just forget all. xD

And Start next day on difrent situation.

Its hard but it helps :)

Can I ask question for bbbbuuu :)

Heh, a rule to forget about it when you get home sounds like a good way to handle things XD I usually just count down the time when I'm on shift, or I'll compare how much time I've got left, to like, the time it would take to watch a movie. Like, "I've got about 3 hours to go, that's about as long as  The Hateful Eight" lmao XD

Hmm, my favorite male hedgehog would have to be Sonic! I actually really dislike Amy, but I don't know anything about the other female echidnas from the comics, so I'll say by default that Tikal is probably my favorite female Echidna lol XD
